She weighed it thoughtfully--and somewhat drunkenly--and put the drink down. "It'll do." She stood up and then stared at him blankly, like a deer in headlights. "I have no clue what the hell I'm doing."

Risk put his arm around her waist, steadying her to make sure she wouldn't fall. "Don't worry, I gotcha," said Risk as he led her towards the dance floor. He positioned her hand on his shoulder before taking the other one.
"Ready?"

No, she was bloody well not ready. She was freaking out because there were hands on her, and she was drunk, and he was close and attractive, and she felt impossibly stupid for reacting this way--and she'd never danced with anyone before. Nope, never.
"Sure," she said coolly as the next song started up.

"Just follow my lead," said Risk, nodding at her as the song began to play. He made sure not to go too fast, scared that Macbeth might get too dizzy from the combination of dancing and alcohol. Feeling brave, he pulled her closer, humming with the song.
"See? It's not so bad!"

"Could be worse," she muttered. She wasn't a total klutz, so she managed to follow his steps, more-or-less, though the alcohol set her a step behind him a couple times. She danced cautiously, uncertainly, and it was pretty much the most endearing she'd been since he met her. She felt very young, and drunk and nervous--and suspicious when he pulled her closer. "I'm not almost having sex on the bar with you." ((My Internet. Doesn't work. When it's raining. *growls* Guess I should go to bed anyway, but I never would've torn myself away from this thread otherwise. 'Night, m'dear! <3))

Risk couldn't help but smile in amusement. Macbeth really wasn't so bad once you get past her antics. At one point in time, she was just as hurt, young and naive as anyone in the lodging house and Risk was determined to get to know her better. "It's good to know that we're not almost doin' that, then," smirked Risk, gently twirling her around before bringing her back to him. ((No worries! Or else I'd be up all night, haha! 'Til next time! ))

She was dizzy and still enjoying a slight blur effect, but at least she wasn't falling all over the dance floor. "You'd think I'd be better at this," she mused aloud. "Watched my sister dance for years."

"You're not as bad as you think," smiled Risk reassuringly. They weren't actually doing so bad. With a few stumbles here and there, they weren't running into people or stepping on each other's toes. "You've got a sister?"

"Had. She useta sing and dance back in the Points. And...other stuff. She died, though," Macbeth explained, as the real reason she didn't drink much started to become very clear.

"Oh," said Risk, frowning. "Macbeth, I'm really sorry..."
He looked at her with sincerity as they danced in the crowd. "I'm sure she was beautiful when she danced."

"You don't hafta be bloody sorry, you didn't kill her, did you?" Beth swayed, more from alcohol than the dance, and leaned against him for support. "She was always fucking beautiful."

"Mmm, that's the Macbeth I know," smirked Risk once she snapped back at him. He simply laughed as he held her closer, making sure she wasn't about to fall from the spinning and alcohol. "Well, she'd be proud to see you dancing."

"I ain't sold my body for a fortune yet, so no, she wouldn't be proud." Alarm bells were finally going off somewhere in her head. She should get out of here, or pass out, or possibly die, if that would shut her up.

"Right," muttered Risk, raising a skeptical eyebrow at her. "How're you feeling? Wanna sit back down?"

"That'd be a good idea, yeah." She followed him back to the bar stools. Luckily, she no longer knew where she'd left her drink.
