Risk was bored. He let out a sigh as he fell face down on the couch, feeling quite restless after a full day of selling. Normally, he would've made his way towards Irving Hall but with the rate he'd been going and the events he'd created at that place, it probably wasn't a good idea to go alone... or, with anyone that he didn't know particularly too well.
There's also poker... thought Risk. Then, immediately changed his mind when he realized he didn't have enough money.

Race came down the stairs, not sure what he wanted to do with his evening, though gambling was, of course, foremost on his mind. He'd done a lot less of it since he and Sapphy got together, and he realized that was a good thing, but he could hardly be expected to go cold turkey, right?
Then he noticed a familiar someone collapsed on the couch. "Ain't it a little early to be passing out this time?" he joked, though from what little he knew of Risk, he wouldn't be surprised if the kid had been drinking already.

Risk pushed himself off the couch and shot Race a look. "I am completely sober, Race." He opened his mouth to say something else when the door opened to reveal Ershey walking inside the lodging house. She stopped in her tracks when she noticed Risk then glanced at Race.
"What're you two boys up to?"

"Being completely sober," Race said with a grin. "Other than that, I don't really have plans yet. How 'bout you, Ersh?"

Ershey shrugged. "I haven't really planned that far just yet."
Risk jumped off the couch and beamed. It was yet another opportunity to make his sister happy. "Let's all do something!"

Race raised an eyebrow at Risk's sudden enthusiasm, but he shrugged cheerfully enough. "Sure, why not? Got anything in mind?"

"Let's drink!" said Risk excitedly, throwing his hands up in the air.
"...Really, Risk?"

Race smirked. "Since my suggestion would prob'ly be 'Let's throw all our money away on cards or horses,' maybe we oughta let Ershey pick." He glanced between the two of them. "How's Mush gonna feel about this, by the way?"

Ershey hesitated, a bit unsure about whether she this was really good idea. Then again, maybe she needed a drink with her brother so they could both ease up after everything that's happened lately...
"He'll be fine," answered Ershey, looking at Race. She'd have to explain all of this later. "Alright, fine, we can drink... only 'cause I don't know what else there is for us to do."
"Yes!" muttered Risk, throwing his fist in the air.

"Long as we don't hafta drag you home again," Race said, smirking but not actually sounding resentful, because Race pretty much never resented anyone except Spot and Copper. He looked at Ershey. "Whatever happened to your friend, anyway? The angry girl?"

"Macbeth? She's..." Taking care of a baby right now. "Busy. But she recovered fine."
Risk scoffed, recalling how Macbeth was on his tail about almost everything. "Yeah, she did." He glanced at Race and smirked. "Ready?"

Race checked his pockets. Cards, dice, pocket watch, harmonica--hey, you never knew. "Ready!" He led the way out the door and looked back at them as they followed. "Uh, so...where exactly are we gonna be drinking?"

"I don't know where else to go other than Irving Hall," shrugged as he followed Race and Ershey.
"Me neither," said Ershey. "Got any suggestions, Race?"

Well, there was O'Reagan's, but he didn't think it was a good idea to take them to Brooklyn. And then he remembered Copper's dive. "There's this place called Charlie's. Ain't far." He pointed in the right direction. "So what've you two been up to?"

After hearing Race's question, Risk's demeanor fell. He stared at the ground and muttered, "Uh..."
"Nothin'!" interrupted Ershey, putting on her best smile. "Y'know, sellin' and the, er, usual..."
