A wide smile spread across Kathryn's lips as she gazed up at him. "I love you, too," she replied, her voice soft but very, very happy.
She rushed through her lunch hour, packing an outfit for every possible situation and making sure to pack her nicest dress, a one-shouldered dark purple dress that hit just above her knees. Then, after what seemed like an eternity, 4 o'clock came. She jumped into her car and headed over to Tyler's apartment.

Tyler, meanwhile, had packed a duffel bag for the weekend. In a garment bag, he had a charcoal gray suit, light blue shirt and tie. He'd changed into his favorite pair of jeans and a tshirt, well-worn ball cap on his head.
His eyes looked tired. As soon as Kathryn had left for work, he'd showered and headed over to Sherry's. It went about as well as he thought it would. There was a lot of screaming, dramatic crying, and a thrown lamp had narrowly missed his head. She'd given him back the ring, and he sold it back to the jeweler's, the cash sitting in his wallet, ready to be spent.

When Tyler opened the door for her, she immediately jumped on him, wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck.
"Hello," she said cheerfully, her nose touching his.

He laughed as he caught her, holding her thighs. "Hi, there, baby." He held onto her tightly. "Oh, man, did I need some a' this, Sugar." He nuzzled her gently, kissing her neck.

"Glad I could help," Kathryn muttered, giggling as he tickled her neck. "Are we ready to go?"

He kissed her, smiling, then set her down to grab his duffel and garment bag. "Ready if you are. You got yer stuff? We'll take my truck." He turned out the light, waiting for her to walk out, then locking the door behind him, heading out to his parking spot. "How was work?"

"Longest day ever," she replied as she grabbed her suitcase from next to his door. "But those lazy people aren't going to book vacations themselves. If they did, I'd be out of a job," she chuckled as she followed him to his truck.

He grinned at her, taking their bags and putting them in the backseat of the truck before helping her get in. He kissed her, nudging his nose against hers lightly. "Who knows. Maybe one day I'll end up rich, and you'll never have ta work again." He winked at her, then closed the door and went around, getting into the driver's seat.

Kathryn sighed in annoyance, pursing her lips at him. "I don't care about money. You should know that by now." She crossed her arms across her chest after buckling her seatbelt. "Plus, if I didn't have my job, I wouldn't have been able to book us a room at the Venetian for a very, very good price."

((And because I'm a brat from L.A. and can never imagine having to fly to get to Vegas, I'm going to pretend they live in SoCal, haha))
He looked over at her as he began the drive. "Wow, the Venetian? I'm impressed, Sugar." He grinned at her, driving with one hand so he could set his free hand on her thigh. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he glanced over at her. "So, the Sherry thing's done."

((LOL okay! You can take the reins on everything since I know nothing about SoCal OR Vegas! Only what I've seen on TV and in movies.))
"Well, I should hope so. If it wasn't I'd seriously have to slap you. I wouldn't like it, but I would do it," she replied, trying to sound as serious as possible. She ran her fingers up and down his arm, scratching his skin lightly with her fingernails.

((Haha, it's pretty fun, even if you don't like to gamble or go to clubs. Sometimes my boyfriend and I go for a weekend and we play tourist. I save up for a spa day. Hehe))
He smirked a little, taking the chance to kiss her as they hit a red light before getting on the freeway. "Well, a slap wouldn't be as bad as nearly gettin' whacked with a damn lamp. That was excitin'." He rolled his eyes a little, giving her knee a squeeze.

"God, what a bitch!" Kathryn grumbled, gritting her teeth as she looked out the window. She had been waiting for a long, long time to say that in front of him. It felt so good.

Tyler couldn't help it -- he burst out laughing. He always thought it was kind of adorable when Kathryn swore; this pretty little thing with the sweetest face, saying the worst words. It was endearing. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles, nibbling a little bit on her fingertips. "Well, that bitch ain't gonna be a part of our lives anymore." He looked at her sidelong. "I called my parents."

Kathryn took a deep breath before answering. His laughter had actually helped calm her down.
"And...?" She looked over at him inquiringly, somewhat nervous. She loved his parents, and they loved her. But still.
