"He's actually very charming," Tara said. "Everyone absolutely adores him...because no one really knows him. He used to always let me follow him around like a puppy dog because he never thought I'd be smart enough to figure out what he was up to. He's involved in dirty money schemes, he lies and cheats to get what he wants, and he does the nastiest things with the girls at Madame Barry's. He tried them with me, too, but I punched him in the mouth." She said all this very casually while inspecting the dessert menu.

Jack was silent for a little while and then reached over and took her hand. "You want me to scare him? I know a guy who could scare the shit out him."

Tara bit her lip. The manic gleam was back in her eye. "Well, if you don't think he'd mind..." Just then, the waiter showed up and dropped off their food. Tara eyed a piece of meat in a bun and beamed. "So this is knockwurst!...it's basically a hot dog, isn't it?" She took a bite.

Tara just grinned and munched away on her knockwurst. She was used to babbling just about nonstop, but she wanted to see what else he might say if she gave him a chance.

Tara swallowed and beamed. It was as good a word as any. "I'll keep that in mind. I want my live up to my reputation, after all." She polished off the knockwurst, considering. "Spontaneously speaking, I, uh...wouldn't actually mind if you talked to this friend of yours. And maybe gave him the name Ronald Tyler."

Jack laughed, "I'll give him the word, don't worry." This meant he had to have a discussion with Tristan which always made him a little edge, but if he could help Tara out, he didn't really mind too much.
