"After this? Well we could go watch some of Medda's vaudeville, or we could feed the ducks in central park or we could hang out on the roof of the lodging house OR we could get drunk." Jack suggested.

"So many choices!" said Tara, surprised and delighted at the way he just churned them all out. "Can we do it all?"

Jack laughed, "Not in one day, I think it's too much."

"I suppose so," said Tara with a sigh, and thought for a moment. "We could save the ducks for another day, get drunk while watching vaudeville, and then nurse our hangovers up on the roof."

"Done," Jack said with a satisfied nod.

Tara bounded out of her seat in excitement, only just remembering to put down money to cover her half of the bill and tip. She waltzed out the door before Jack could argue, waiting for him outside.

Jack paid his half and then trotted after her, "hey, wait up!" He said with a laugh and then when he reached her casually slipped his hand into hers.

She smiled and walked down the street--hand-in-hand with a newsboy, and she didn't give a damn who saw. "Irving Hall, I'm assuming? I haven't been there since the night Goblin and his friend sneaked into my school," she said with a laugh.

"Yeah, where else would we go?" He nudged her shoulder with his and kept walking.

"Where else indeed!" She bounced along the couple of blocks to Irving Hall, excited for whatever lay ahead. "You realize we're going to be dancing between drinks, right? I say we alternate until we can just barely get to the lodging house under our own steam." Which meant she might have to spend the night, but she wasn't complaining. Though her dorm mother certainly would.

"I agree wholeheartedly," Jack said to her and then turned her in a twirl, smiling. He held the door to Irving Hall open for her. "My Lady." He bowed.

"My good sir." She bowed in return instead of curtsying, then strode into the theater and waited eagerly for him, wondering whether they should start with the bar or the dance floor.

Jack made the decision for her when he heard the lively music playing, he grabbed her hand and dragged her out to the dance floor.

She laughed and kicked up her heels immediately, dancing with him to the rapid Irish music that most sane people didn't even try to keep up with. She barely knew what she was doing, but she did it anyway, and she did it with great enthusiasm.

Jack looped his arm in hers and spun her around, he laughed. Man it felt good to dance, he was really doing his mom proud. He kicked up his heels as well and smiled at Tara.
((Holy crap I just figured out some of Jack's history like in this very moment.))
