((*gasp* Flare! Is your boy giving me a sneaky look? )) Tree giggled in spite of herself. There was just something so comical about such a ghoulish girl as Wraith reading naughty books and flinging pillows around. Talk about discrepancies in expectations and reality... And as for Goblin, well, he was a mystery, what with his unreadable looks and laughing-yet-guarded eyes. And if there was one thing she loved, it was solving a good mystery.

((Treeling, I swear I did not plan or authorize this, but he maaay have a thing for her. ^_^))
Goblin chuckled at Tag's reaction to the cat. "You can keep her if you want. Another one always turns up sooner or later."
He glanced at Clara, but she seemed to think she had done her duty in getting him to play nice with the shy girl--she'd turned back to stone.

Tag looked up immediately, staring at the boy.
"...W-what? Really?"

"Sure, why not? They're always following me around. They're very handy for mice and bugs, I think that's why Kloppman lets 'em stay."

((speaking of cats... One just jumped onto my back. 0_0 ))
Tag smiled widely and hugged the cat even more closely to her.
"Thanks!" She replied cheerfully.

((Aww, KITTY!! ) "No problem," he chuckled. "Don't let her read that book, though, I think she's a little young." He couldn't be expected to give up his obnoxious ways altogether, right?

Zippy laughed, stroking the kitty. "What are you gonna name her, Tag?"

"Lizzie." Tag replied almost immediately. Lizzie after the heroine of her favorite book, Pride & Prejudice.
"Oh, isn't she lovely?"

Tree eyed the cat warily. She had spent enough time among leaves and branches to be friends with birds and the occasional squirrel, but any animals larger than that still got her guard up. At least stray cats weren't as prone to biting as dogs...

"Schemes of darkest evil lurk in her soul," Goblin said solemnly, looking not at Tag but at Tree, whose expression was amusingly wary of the furry little creature.

"I knew it," Tree muttered. "Them feline types always were out to get me." She glanced over at Goblin, a spark of mischief in her eye. "So if they're always followin' you, does that mean you're in league with them? Are you their leader?" ((P.S. I like Goblin's lyrics. ))

"Cats don't have leaders," Goblin said firmly--that was what he liked about them. "But in league with them, absolutely. We only reveal our schemes to those who prove themselves worthy, though." He scratched Lizzie behind the ears, and they both gave Tree identical mysterious looks.
((Thanks! ;D They suit him so well.))

Tree frowned. Was that a challenge? It was so hard to tell with all his vague words and unreadable expressions. In a moment of frustration, she put her thumbnail to her teeth and began to gnaw on it.
Just then, she realized that she was still sopping wet and holding a set of dry clothes in her unoccupied hand. It was too easy for her to get distracted from things like basic comfort when an intriguing new person was around.
She waved the clothes in the air and said to no one in particular, "I'm gonna go dry off," before she wandered into the washroom, fingernail still in her mouth, to contemplate the potential story that was Goblin.
