"My favorite of all time: How did I go from lickin' pussy to watching the Disney Channel?"
"I'm here now, and it don't look like you had that much trouble carryin' on without me," he said cooly, putting his heels up on the desk.

Tyler nearly choked on coffee. He set his cup down so he could laugh. "Jesus..!" He grinned big at her. "Lemme guess. That was the night he hooked up with Cassie Malone, right? She was like a goddamn Barbie doll." He smirked, appreciating having more ammunition against Kevin now, then tilted his head at her. "What about you, Shaye? I ain't seen any guys around you in ages.."
Maggie's eyes flicked over at his shoes on her perfectly clean, perfectly organized desk, then back at him, meeting his eyes. Her mouth was set in a thin line, but her voice came out weaker than she meant it to. "Why do you have to be such a jerk?"

"Hey," Kevin slurred leisurely. "I was given the role -- only strengthening it," he smirked.
"That's because any guy I... Whatever... I leave 'em where I find 'em," she said cryptically. "And you?" She peeked into his head just to see if he'd tell the truth.

A look of hurt flashed behind Maggie's eyes for a split second, but she only sighed, frustrated, and shifted to sit up on the desk. "Doesn't that get tiring? Dealing with you when you're in one of your moods exhausts me."
Tyler had had his share of girls, but he usually kept them around longer and treated them better than, say, Kevin. He gave a half-smirk. "Nah, right now I'm single. Lookin', maybe, but single." Oh, and he was definiely looking. Lookin' right at you, Sugar.

Shaye smirked to herself. She liked Tyler, but it would be too complicated. They worked together and being with anyone when she could read their mind... Sounded exhausting. She'd use it to her advantage and could sense she'd be hurt on a regular basis. She just smiled at Tyler, nodding.
"Then why do you insist on dealing with me?" Kevin spat, standing up. "Lemme be."

Tyler smiled at her, but his brow quirked. "Shaye...what's been with ya lately, huh? Ya always get this...look.." He waved his hand vaguely. He knew there had always been something...interesting about her, but lately he noticed it more and more.
Maggie sighed. "Kevin, stop." She bit her lip, frowning down at her lap. She lifted her head to look at him. "Why are you so...mean to me all the time?"

"You think you're special? I'm mean to everyone," he rolled his eyes.
"Look?" she laughed, mimicking Tyler's hand movements.

"Yeah, but I'm--" Your friend? Your supervisor? In love with you? She stopped herself before she said something stupid. She bit her lip. "Nevermind."
"Ya know...a look. Like this faraway look in your eyes. Like you're listening to two conversations at once."

"There's a little man inside my head," Sapphy said in a dead-pan voice. She dropped the act and grinned broadly at Tyler. "I'm always thinking, is all."
"Thought so, lemme get back to work," (sleep) Kevin said as he pushed his chair away and went back out onto the floor.

Tyler was just about to ask what she always thought about, when they heard the office door slam. Hard. He arched a brow and looked over at her. "Uh, maybe we oughta get back to work..." He downed the rest of his coffee, and headed out of the breakroom.
Maggie, meanwhile, who had been responsible for said door-slam, was sitting in her chair, head on the desk. I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry..

Sapphy nodded at Tyler but quickly walked out to slide into Maggie's office.
"Hey, Mags?" she whispered. She gently put her hand on the back of Maggie's neck. "You okay?" I know you're not okay, I'm sorry.

Maggie kept her head on the desk, sniffling a little. "I'm an idiot, Shaye. A total idiot."
Tyler moved to the tool table casually, glancing at Kevin with a smirk. "So...what'd ya do now?"

"Don't know, don't care," Kevin said flippantly, throwing up the hood of an old Volkswagen.
"You're not an idiot, Mags," she said, sitting beside her and rubbing her back. "Kevin's just... Not in the best place right now. You know he's out of his mind most of the time. I know it's hard to do, but, you shouldn't take it so personally."

Tyler watched him, the corner of his mouth turned down. "Ya know she's like in love with you, right."
Maggie lifted her head to look at Shaye, eyes a little watery. "What's wrong with him? I mean, I know he's always been...moody. But lately it's been awful."

"Partying too hard changes Kevin, Mags. It changes everyone."
"Yeah. And?" Kevin rolled his eyes, not bothering to even look up at Tyler.
