"Sounds familiar," he chuckled, remembering his sister. "We'll stick with searching while you do the asking, then. Hopefully we'll find something."

The Pearsons both nodded as the cab started clattering through neighborhoods that were somewhat less dodgy than theirs. Wraith pressed her nose against the window and sighed. "We're going to pass our old place..." Goblin gave her a look.

"Is this where you both used to live?" asked Risk, peering outside.

"Just around the corner here," Goblin admitted, and pointed out the house when they turned. It was considerably smaller than most of the houses around it, but still really nice. He happened to know for a fact that their mother still lived there, but he'd spent the past...ten years now!?...not caring.
Which had nothing to do with his total silence while they traveled the next few blocks to their destination.

"Oh," managed Risk, not too sure what else to say. Family was always a sore subject around Goblin and he knew he shouldn't prod any further.
Opening the carriage door and stepping out, Risk eyed the house, curious to see what it held inside. "Well, here we go..."

"Yep." Goblin paid the driver and jumped out, and Wraith behind him. The cabbie cracked his whip at the horses and took off, having promised to return for them in a couple hours, and Goblin led them up to the porch and knocked on the door.

((Sure! ;D))
The door opened, revealing a tiny middle-aged who quickly ushered them in. "Is this Sebastian for Mr. Brewer?" she asked, looking at the three of them for confirmation.

"It is indeed," Goblin said, and kept his face blank to hide his eagerness while they awaited the mysterious Mr. Brewer. Wraith automatically melted into the shadows.

"R-right, I'll just follow her..." muttered Risk, trying his best to keep up with Wraith, who was already searching the place.
"Sebastian," smiled Mr. Brewer, stepping into the hallway and greeting him with a nod. He offered his hand as the corners of his lips turned into a sly smile. "Thank you for making the trek all the way over here to our lovely home. I'm definitely delighted to have you here."

((Yeah, he's creeping me out already.))
"Anything I can do to help, sir," Goblin said, shaking the guy's hand and feeling grateful he'd never really picked up a street accent. "My colleagues are just going to take a look around, if you don't mind?" Tough luck if he did; they were already gone. "And I thought I might ask you some questions about your daughter."
Wraith stopped by the stairs to wait for Risk; she never quite understood how other people could be so slow. "C'mon, the bedrooms must be up this way," she whispered.
((To bed with me! See ya soon. <3))

((Gnight! <3))
"Of course," he nodded. "Let's have a talk in my study." He led him towards a nearby room filled with books. "Please take a seat," he gestured towards a chair as he sat behind his desk.
"I'm coming," muttered Risk, following Wraith. How the hell did she blend so well with everything??

Goblin took a seat, wondering whether it would be very wrong to steal some of the books to win the friendship of Macbeth and Jo. "So let's start out by going over the basics again," he suggested. "Since I've only heard your wife's version. Tell me about your daughter, and the last time you saw her."
Wraith silently reached the top of the stairs and suddenly bolted off to the side. A boy of about sixteen and a girl of about twelve were coming down the hall, whispering together. They froze when they saw Risk; Wraith had already pulled a total vanishing act. "Who are you?" the boy demanded, while the girl just eyed him fearfully.

"She was fine," he sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Elizabeth wasn't one to go outside, so it was no surprise that she was quietly doing her homework when she was at home. She was always very quiet -- kept to herself most of the time with her head in the books."
"Alec. I'm here to help look for your sister?" answered Risk, putting on a straight face.

He nodded thoughtfully. "And is there anyone you can think of who might want to hurt her? Someone who might feel a need to get even with you, or with someone else in this family?"
The boy and girl traded a glance. "Do you think you'll find her?" the girl blurted out, and her brother poked her. "Anything we can do to help?" he asked.
Wraith, meanwhile, had ducked inside the nearest bedroom, but judging by the enormous bed and two closets, it belonged to the parents. She poked around anyway, waiting for the children to leave so she could grab Risk and find Elizabeth's room.

"Well, we mentioned that she should get married," answered Mr. Brewer, his face blank. "She agreed, which probably doesn't give you much. She said she'd do anything for our family. It's because she loves us so much."
"Where's Elizabeth's room?" asked Risk, wondering whether these two siblings could really be of help.
