Tyler sat there, staring at her, then burst out laughing. It was the first time he'd loosened up since he found her. His eyes watered he was laughing so hard. "Sugar, I've heard some whoppers in my time, but that is just somethin' else entirely!"

Rose started laughing with him, quite relieved he didn't believe her. She didn't know how she was going to explain herself if he had. Besides, he looked much better when he was laughing; not as grim and scary.

He slouched back in his chair, grinning at her. "Look, I know yer not tellin' me everything. And I promise I'm gonna get it outta you eventually. But for now, ya just made my day, Sugar."

Rose blushed a bit as he smiled at her; he was really good looking. Was Tyler this good looking? Why had she never noticed?!
"I'm glad I could do that. You seem like you need a bit of cheering up..."

He snorted. "Well, nobody ever accused me a' bein' cheerful." He smiled, a bit ruefully, then got up, taking their empty dished to the sink and turning on the tap. "How's yer head?" He rolled his sleeves up, adding soap to the water to wash the dishes.

Rose was about to ask why he was inquiring after her head, but then she realized he thought she probably fell and hit her head on a rock or something. So, she immediately put her hand on the side of her head, wincing a little. "It's okay... Hurts a bit."

He glanced at her over his shoulder, finishing the dishes. He dried his hand on a dish cloth, and came over to her. "Lemme check it." He stood behind her, gently brushing her hair off her shoulder and pressing his fingers to her scalp.

Rose sat absolutely still, not moving one muscle in her body. She could feel her cheeks flushing as he rubbed her head, seemingly checking for bumps and bruises.

"Hm..I don't feel nothin'...but yer awfully tense. Come on into the livin' room and lie down. I can rub yer head if ya want me to." He glanced down at her. He probably shouldn't touch her. She madehis insides jittery. But if she was hurt, is mother would kill him if he didn't at least try to take care of her.

"Oh, no, that's okay. It'll be fine, I'm sure," she replied, looking up at him. "But, um, you could rub my shoulders...?"

He quirked an eyebrow up, nearly smirking. "I think I can manage that." He did smirk now, meeting her eyes for a second, then turned and walked into the living room, flicking on the radio to some jazz station or other.

Rose followed him, gazing around the room. It didn't look that much different from her living room at home...except without the flat screen TV, the video game system, the answering machine, the bookshelf full of DVD's...

He plopped down into the comfortable, over-stuffed armchair he only got to sit in when his dad wasn't home. "Come 'ere. You can sit on the footstool."

She did so, pulling her hair over one shoulder and taking off her heavy winter coat. She had a not so strange case of deja vu... She just hoped this Tyler's hands were as magical as the present day's.

He arched a brow when her coat was off. Her shirt was awful tight. And those jeans...Jesus, focus, Tyler!. He put his hands to her shoulders and began to knead, his calloused fingers brushing against the soft skin of her neck.
