"Er... Yeah, I could eat," she replied, trying not to let her disappointment show in her voice. She sipped at her tea, watching Tyler. "Can I help?" Maybe if she was really nice and helpful he'd tell her more... ((Gah. Jess, I tried to stay up later than normal. But I just can't do it. I am an old lady! Good night ))

((Haha, niiiiiiight!!!))
He nodded, going into the freezer, searching. His mom had made stew, all he had to do was heat it. He took the bowl to the stove, scooping the contents into a pot. He did all of this in silence.

...Right. Okay. Definitely not like Tyler at all.
Rose sipped at her tea some more, watching the snowflakes fall outside.

He watched her out of the corner of his eye. She was pretty. Real pretty, if he was being honest. And she seemed harmless enough. He'd been a little harsh with her. He sighed. "How ol are ya, anyway?"
((Hey, dear, I'm exhausted, so I'm going to bed, but I'll be on in the morning!))

Rose almost jumped at the sound of his voice. She had been staring at the falling snow, almost in a trance.
"Er, I'm 23. Same age as you," she replied, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
((Okay! Good night!))

He arched a brow. "Ya seem...younger." The stew finished, and he served it into two bowls, bringing them to the table and handing her a spoon. "We got crackers, if ya want any."

Rose thought it was really he who seemed older, and it was probably because of the war. But she didn't say this aloud, of course. She was still trying to get on his good side.
"No, thank you," she responded before loading up her spoon with the stew. She blew on it and took a bite, immediately feeling warmer. "This is delicious. Did you make it?" She wondered if her Tyler inherited his cooking skills from this Tyler.

He shook his head, taking a few bites before answering. "My mama did. Told me just to heat it. I only cook when I have to." He watched her, eating in silence, finally: "Who are ya, really?"

Rose almost choked on her spoon. "What do you mean?"

He eyed her, giving her a pointed look. "Sugar, I've lived here all my life, and hardly anyone ever moves in or out. 'Specially from a place like New York. Ya look like a damn fish outta water, and I know for damn sure yer lyin' ta me. So who are ya? Really?"

Rose looked at him with wide eyes, a bit scared, actually.
"To be honest, I really think I might be dreaming..."

He frowned at her. "What's that even mean?"

Rose opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. Again. And again. Then, finally, she spoke. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

He arched a slow brow. What was with this girl?? "Try me."

Rose was so torn. Wasn't there some sort of time travel rule that says you can't tell people you meet you're from the past/future? But Tyler's all too familiar face was looking at her, and she had never been able to resist that face. She could never lie to Tyler.
"Well...I...am actually...from.............the future?"
