"When I was seventeen, even Detective Cupcakes might not've done the trick," he said, chuckling and sitting down beside her. He draped an arm around her and picked up one of the cupcakes, taking a bite and closing his eyes for a moment. "Mmmm, on second thought..."

She smiled, taking her own cupcake and moving to the living room to curl up on the couch, patting the spot beside her so he could sit. "You know. You're the one that makes my baking good."

"Mag, your baking was brilliant before you ever met me," he pointed out, reveling in the chocolatey goodness of the cupcake. He couldn't stop glancing at the ring on her finger. They were really doing this. And he seriously couldn't wait. That had to be a good sign, right?

She smiled, admiring the twinkle of her ring as much as he was. "Maybe. But I lost my powers when we broke up. I only really got it back when we got back together." She finished her cupcake, putting the wrapper on the coffee table and wiping her hands on her apron.

"Really?" He had to smile at that. "And you never, you know...regretted it for anything?" Honestly, it still bothered him a little, after all these years, to remember about her and Skittery. Not that he could really blame either of them, but...what if Skittery was actually better for her? What if she still had 'what if?' moments?

She angled towards him, holding up her newly bedazzled hand. "Do you see this? Do you see me wearing it? That means that I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. You, Sebastian. Not anybody else." She felt as though she'd spend the last few years proving to him that she wasn't going to wake up one day and run off back to Michael.

She narrowed her eyes at the mention of Riddle. "Hm. I'll keep that in mind." She still had dreams of punching Riddle in the face. She enjoyed those dreams. She leaned in and kissed him, arms looping around his neck. "It's just me and you, Sebastian. Me and you, forever."

"I mean...we could...you know...not to rush things," he added quickly. "But honestly, how bad could we possibly fail at it? I'm not gonna run off to Chicago and leave you. Or start working for a crazy gang leader and get us all kidnapped." He was thinking of certain other couples they knew.

"I'm terrified of having kids," he corrected her. "But so are most people before they actually have them, right? Besides, think of all the birthday cakes you could make..." He got a dreamy look on his face.

She laughed and flung her arms around his neck, moving to sit on his lap. "So, that's your motivation, huh?" She nuzzled the crook of his neck, kissing him there. "But really, Sebastian...what made you change your mind? You know...about the marriage thing...and now kids..?"

"Mostly you," he said with a smirk, stroking her hair back fondly. "But also this case I just finished working on. The daughter ran off, and the whole family worked so hard to get her back. Made it seem like it was worth it, you know? Having people in your life who you care about that much, even if something does go wrong once in a while."
And he could see him and Maggie doing that--having a real, normal, loving family. Which he'd kind of missed out on the first time around.
