Ben laughed. "Hey, no problem. I don't blame the guy for still being obsessed with you. You're a great catch, Lily." He said it, not realizing only Tyler called her that.

She caught that, her heart doing a small flip. But not really in a good way. It was like she wanted to steal that 'Lily' away from Ben and give it to Tyler.
Instead, she just chuckled nervously, trying to make it sound flirtatious. "Well, I don't think he's obsessed... It was just a bad break-up is all. I think he's having a hard time getting over it."

Ben grinned on the other end of the phone. "Well, I feel for the guy. You're probably pretty hard to get over." He paused. "I want to see you again, Lil."

"Uh..yeah, sure. I would like that," she replied, her shy smile evident in her tone. "Whenever is fine for me."

Ben grinned broader. "Well, I gotta check my schedule, but I'll call you. We'll plan something for next week sometime."

"Sounds good," she replied, walking slowly around her room as she talked to him. "I'll talk to you later, then."

"Night, Ben," she said before hanging up. She set her phone on her desk then headed out to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

Tyler came in moments later, leaning against the door frame of the bathroom. He looked so sad. "Ya like him."

Lillian spit out her toothpaste and looked at him through the mirror. "I might. I don't really know him well enough yet," she informed him, tying her hair up and putting on a headband to keep her hair out of her face. She turned the water on and pumped some face wash into her palm, massaging it into her skin.

He watched her. Her before bed routine had always intrigued him. "And ya don't like me anymore."

"I told you, I'm not talking about that tonight, not when you're drunk," she said, her eyes shifting from him to look at her own reflection. She bent to wash the soap off her face, then toweled it off.

He sighed, raking a hand through his hair. "I'm barely even drunk anymore, Lily. Ya've seen me worse."

She rolled her eyes, putting moisturizer on her face before taking her hair down. "I'm still not talking about it now, okay? Just...go to bed. Because that's what I'm doing." She turned to leave the bathroom, waiting for him to move.

He didn't. He blocked the door, looking down at her, eyes sad. "Why won't ya talk to me?"
