Leo hopped on, holding the reins. "Hold tight, querida." And then he urged Tornado, who began to gallop back into town.

Kathryn held on tightly as they made their way to the Mayor's mansion. She was secretly dreading he parents' reactions to seeing her. Would they be furious? Happy she was alive? Relieved? What?
Her questions were answered when she spotted her mother waiting at the door, handkerchief in hand. Kathryn could tell she started crying when she saw them riding up the driveway.

Leo pulled the reins, Tornado slowing down and stopping in front of the mayor's house. He jumped off him, and helped Kathryn down.

Her mother gathered her up in a hug, telling her how glad she was that she was okay. Her father joined them, immediately holding his hand out to Zorro. "You may not have brought her home to us when we wanted, but at least you kept her safe. Many thanks to you."

"Well, thank you for your opinion, but I think I know what's best for my career," he replied, trying to speak as nicely as possible.
"But what about what's best for your family?" Kathryn interjected, her brown furrowed deeply. "Are you just going to stand by and wait until someone kidnaps me again?"

The mayor cleared his throat, running his fingers over his beard. "Well, if you're needed, we will certainly call you."

Kathryn caught Leo's eye and nodded slightly, telling him she would be fine. But she also wanted to see him again very soon.

Leo galloped away, figuring it was about time he got these bad guys. He went to the sheriffs office to talk things over.

Kathryn fought back her mother's protests to take a bath, get some rest, eat something. She had done all of that at Leo's house. Finally, her mother backed off when her father summoned her to his study to talk. Kathryn was told to go upstairs to her room, but obviously she eavesdropped. Her father was angry.

Zorro and the sheriff decided to set up a trap, capture some of these men, and end this once and for all. It required the mayor making a public speech.
Leo went over as Zorro later the next day to explain things to katheyn's father.
