The Legend of Zorro (c)

[Kathryn]

If the mayor was angry earlier, then Kathryn was angry now. Leo hadn't come over for hours, and when he did, he was still Zorro. It was selfish, yes, but she wanted to tell her parents. So, the whole time Zorro was there, Kathryn was in her bedroom sulking.

"Fine," the mayor relented. "I'll give a speech. But if anything happens to make the people of this city doubt my competency as a leader, you will no longer be welcome here. Are we clear?"

[Leo]

Zorro placed his sword down on the mayor's desk, in an attempt to make a point. "I do not like threats, mayor. I do what I do, with or without your permission."

[Kathryn]

The mayor turned red in the face, but his advisor had told him not to make an enemy of Zorro. Especially not now. "Let's get on with it, then."

[Leo]

Zorro began to make his way out when he saw Kathryn waiting at the door. "how you feeling miss?"

[Kathryn]

Kathryn crossed her arms over her chest, barely even looking at him. "Fine," she replied, tight lipped.

[Leo]

Leo raised his eyebrow, wondering why she was so irritated. "I'll come see you tonight," he mumbled to her with a nod. "leave your window open."

[Kathryn]

"Okay," she mumbled back. She knew she was being terribly selfish, but she was a spoiled rich girl, like it or not.

She turned on her heel and went back up to her room.

[Leo]

Later...much, much later...Leo climbed up to her window as Zorro, being as quiet as possible.

[Kathryn]

Kathryn had tried to stay awake, but had not been successful. She'd left the window open, however, as per his request.

[Leo]

"Kath," Leo mumbled, taking off his mask and crawling into bed next to her.

[Kathryn]

Kathryn jumped awake, almost screaming. But then she realized who it was and hit him over the head with a pillow.

[Leo]

"owww" Leo complained dramatically, grabbing the pillow from her. "why didn't you wait up for me?"

[Kathryn]

"I tried," she countered, sitting up more and running a hand through her hair. "Why haven't you come to see me before now?"

[Leo]

"there was a robbery at the general store." Leo explained, wrapping an arm around her.

[Kathryn]

Well, she couldn't punish him for that now, could she? She leaned into him, resting her head in the crook of his neck. "Is everyone all right? Did they take much?"
