Zippy had FINALLY found her own definition of hell. If she believed in one. She had decided that simply existing with this amount of pain wasn't even close to living.
It had been 5 days since her dramatic and painful fight with David. Obviously she hadn't heard from him and was not about to go to his place to fix it. She wanted to though, and very badly. Just like last time. But deep down, she knew she couldn't. No amount of her apologies would fix it, and even if they could, she didn't want them to. Why would he do this? Why would he put HER over UNIVERSITY?
Zippy was exhausted. She had been at the bookstore for 14 straight hours today. She actually really liked her new job, even though the pay was shit. She got to read the books and talk to interested customers about them. She got to hang with Shelley who was amazing. But she was numb, and wasn't sure for how much longer she could keep up the charade. Zippy took a deep breath of fresh air, fishing in her dress for a cigarette. She would allow herself one cigarette before she would be off to bed on this lonely Saturday night. Because, after all, there was a Sunday edition to sell tomorrow, and papers didn't sell themselves.

It had been five days since Zippy had ripped David's heart out of his chest and trampled it to a broken and bloody pulp. He'd been miserable, sulking and snapping at anyone who tried to talk to him.
He'd turned down Dartmouth. His excuse was he felt too young, he wanted to graduate on time and start college at 18 like everyone else. Maybe that was all partially true, but the real reason was Zippy.
He was angry and hurt, but his feelings for her were just as strong as ever. Which is why he couldn't stay away anymore. He had to see her. So he showed up at the LH late in the evening. When he couldn't find her in the House, he tried the roof, walking through the door nervously. And maybe a little wobbly. He probably shouldn't have snuck into his parents' liquor cabinet before coming over.

((?? Wait she's not there she's on the roof....did you get my message? Maybe just change it to him showing up at the LH? Wait it's fine I'll just have her smoking in the back before she goes home ))

Zippy instantly glanced up at the rooftop door, her cigarette nearly falling out of her mouth when she saw it was David. She was actually really surprised to see him there and couldn't help but wonder if he was there to find jack. Or someone else. Because after their miserable fight she would be surprised if he was coming to talk to her.
"David," she greeted flatly, blinking at him.

He tripped a little as he stepped out of the door, licking his lips when he caught his balance. "Zippy, I was lookin' everywhere for you." She was so pretty. Why did she have to be so pretty?

Zippy's heart skipped a beat, and she raised an eyebrow at him, especially after he tripped. "You....you were?" what else did she have to do to get rid of this guy?

He frowned at her. "Of course I was. You ruined me! I can't think about anything else! I failed my math test yesterday! Math!" He pouted pathetically. "I'm so good at math." He reached his hand into the pocket of his coat, pulling out a flask and taking a swig from it, making a face.

Zippy didn't want to believe he was drunk, but obviously her suspicions were correct when he pulled out the flask. Oh god, she was too tired for this tonight. But she had to admit, it was good seeing him. Even if she was furious with him, just being near him felt so much better.
"Davey...." she began, gulping and trying to find the right words to say to him. "I didn't ruin you," she said softly.

He took another swig, nose scrunching in distaste. "Yes, you did. You did, Zippy! My head's all full of you, and nothing else! I dream about you every night! No other girl even exists, 'cause you're the only one I wanna look at and be with!" He sniffled a little. "And don't look at me with those eyes. Your eyes make me wanna kiss you forever."

"then why don't you?" zippy asked, approaching him. She stopped right in front of him, looking up at him longingly. "I'm right here. You found me."

He swallowed roughly, giving her a sad look. "'Cause you don't want me to. You don't want me. You want Tristan, 'cause I'm not good enough for you." His fingers itched to touch her, so he shoved the flask back in his pocket and clenched his fists by his sides.

"no, I'm right here, and I want you." she told him, filling the gap between them by pressing up her body to his. "Kiss me. I've missed you so much." she stroked his cheek. Even though she was trying to manipulate him, those words were true. She meant them, with all her heart.

His eyes closed a moment as he nuzzled his cheek against her hand. "I miss you, Zip. I miss you so much..." He lifted his hands, putting them on her arms, pulling her closer against his body.
