Goblin had been putting this off for days. He'd told himself he needed time to plan. And he'd had to tap some connections, naturally, to get the things he'd need for this particular mission. Well...really just one thing. Meanwhile, he was avoiding everyone he possibly could, and living in dread that Risk and Macbeth would come back to the lodging house to find out what happened to Sammie. But they hadn't come back, and now--and now, at last, he was ready.
Well, almost.
There were only two things left to do. He tracked down his favorite cat under the porch--a lazy tabby who stayed put wherever you left her--and he left her on Script's pillow. Along with a red rose. Because if he ever deserved to indulge his taste for melodrama, it was now.
And then he tracked down Wraith, which was considerably harder and took him the rest of the day. He finally found her in the attic, daydreaming...with a cheerful smile on her face. Of course, he demanded an explanation, and his blushing sister stuttered out that she'd met a girl. The conversation that followed was one of those lazy, sweet brother/sister talks that he'd had a million times with Clara, but when it was over and he kissed her cheek before he left, he had to turn away fast so she wouldn't see the look in his eyes. So she wouldn't follow him to the bunkroom, where he grabbed a bag he'd packed days ago, glanced at Cav's bunk one last time, sighed, and left the lodging house once and for all.
He was going in search of Monk Eastman, and he didn't expect to come back.

((You're so epic. <3))
Sammie led Riddle towards the lodging house. She remembered when the newsies hauled her towards the place, recalling how she was hardly harmed. Then there was Goblin. She hated how the girls kept on alluding to how she had "feelings" for him. Yeah, right.
"Well, this is where they took me," said Sammie, stepping onto the porch and turning open the door to find the one person she definitely didn't want to see.

((Haha, I just had to! It's the end of a seriously epic plotline.))
What with the planning and the packing and the dramatic goodbye gestures, Goblin had thought he was prepared for anything. Which was why he didn't appreciate being struck dumb with shock the second he stepped out the door.
That was when he saw Sammie. When he saw Riddle standing behind her, his jaw dropped. "But...how...when...what the hell are the two of you doing here?" he demanded, motioning them both frantically toward the nearest alley. He couldn't be seen talking to either of them, and Riddle and Sammie couldn't be seen at all. And how in the world had they found each other? Did Eastman plant some kind of homing device in all the evil girls who worked for him?

((Oh, Goblin, poor boy.))
Sammie followed Goblin towards a nearby alley, keeping an eye out before she finally opened her mouth. "This one wants to go after Eastman," she said, cocking her head towards Riddle.
It was then that she noticed that he looked like he was going somewhere. She looked at him in confusion, her brows furrowing. "What're you doing, anyway?"

"...going after Eastman," he muttered, turning toward Riddle with an exasperated glare.
"I can't help it if I can read your mind!" she said with a smirk.
He rolled his eyes. "Lena, you should be across the goddamn country by now."
"Yeah, I'll get right on that as soon as I win the fucking lottery, Sebastian."
This was really not productive. Goblin decided it would be best to address himself to Sammie. "What do you want to go after Eastman for? You work for the guy. And what are you doing with her?"

Once Sammie heard Goblin's real name, she couldn't help but smirk. She bit back her laughter once he addressed her.
"I met her at Irving Hall. What do you care?" she muttered, glaring right back at him. "And as far as Eastman... even though I was his right hand, he still treated me like shit. Everyone else just didn't see it. He deserves what you and your little newsies did to him."

"Yeah, well, I'm gonna do more," he said grimly, touching something at the bottom of his bag. "But you two don't have to help. Just...go off on a crime spree and leave me alone, all right?"
"You have a huge martyr complex, you know that?" Riddle snapped.
Goblin gave her a seriously deadly look. "That's pretty much your fault, isn't it?"
Riddle shut up. And stared at the ground. And everything was very, very awkward.

Sammie glanced at Goblin then back at Riddle. She wasn't close enough to either but she figured her and Riddle were friends. Or friends enough after a couple days of meeting each other and deciding to track down a gang leader so they can dispose of him.
"Do you even know where to look for him?" said Sammie, finally breaking the silence. "Or are you just going to wander around Five Points and try to get killed?"

((I'm soooo excited for this story line!!! And Script's new kitty (and rose, aww!) are gonna make a dramatic entrance in the Script/Skitts thread because I apparently want Script to suffer THAT MUCH.))

Goblin gave her a look. "I'd know where to look if I tortured you when I had the chance."
Riddle looked up and gulped, having kind of deflated after a certain guilt-inducing remark. "Can't we all just be civil?"

"Yeah but you didn't," snapped Sammie, ignoring Riddle's comment as her eyes narrowed at Goblin. "You let me go and curled up in a ball in a corner."
((Ouch.))

((Hahaha, it's true though.))
Riddle looked totally unsurprised by this; Goblin just looked exhausted. "Well, I hate Eastman a lot more than you, so I think I can handle it. Now, are you gonna tell me where he is, or are the two of you just gonna follow me around Five Points until we're all dead?"

Sammie sighed, rolling her eyes at him. "You need help. You need us," she stated, hoping he'd cave in if she persuaded him enough. "Besides, you don't even know where to start 'cause he's not in Five Points anymore."

"Oh, yeah? Do you have anything resembling a plan?"
Riddle finally looked genuinely offended. "Of course I've got a--"
"Wasn't talking to you."
Riddle's eyes rolled upward for heavenly guidance. "Oi, gevald! Will you just let her to take us to him?" She waved her hand at Sammie.
Goblin looked like he was about to argue, then took a deep breath and tried to remember how he used to be a calm and rational person. "Fine. But on the way, one of you is gonna tell me what the hell you think you're gonna do when we get there."

Sammie nodded, formulating a plan as they walked out of the alley and towards the Bronx. "He still knows me," she explained, secretly hoping that none of the newsies saw her. The last thing she wanted was a beating.
"I can play it off... you all kidnapped me but I ran away and looked for him. Do the girl thing and tell him I'd work for him and that I don't have anything else left to lose. Then, once he gives in, you two can come in."
