"She wants me," Eli explained with a shrug.

Trixie glanced over at him, then back at the contortionist. "Well...bet fuckin' her would be real interestin'."

"You'd be a better lover though," Eli said suddenly, looking at her. "She's too selfish. I don't like my women selfish in bed." It was the first mature thing he'd said all day, and it was weird. There was something about Trixie that brought out the playfulness in him. More than the usual person...which he liked.

A slow smile spread across her face, and she gave him an amused sort of look. "Well, don't count me out, Eli. I like to make sure I get mine."

((I started a Dave/Zippy thread. Is it bad I was already going through withdrawal? ))
Eli smiled at her. "That's why you'd be great in bed."

((Haha, aw! Yay! Okies, on my way!))
She met his eyes a moment, smiling back at him, then turned back to show.

As the finale parade began rolling, Eli suddenly realized they had to get out of there before the contortionist came back looking for an interview. "Time to go, Beautiful," he muttered to Trixie, taking her arm and tugging.

Trixie pouted. "But it ain't over!" She followed after him anyway, figuring he had a good reason to leave early.

"You can watch from the exit," Eli told her, leading her out. "I'm a dirty liar, I had to develop my own disappearing act," he joked, although he remembered for a moment where he had learned it from, and his smile faded for a moment.

She saw a change come over his face, and she gave him a curious look. "Nah, it's alright. Let's go ride that Ferris wheel now, huh?"

"Yes!" Eli fist pumped in the air and turned towards the ferris wheel. He sighed though, the thought of his father reminding him the promise he made to Zippy. He pulled a newspaper out of his back pocket and opened it up.
"First things first though," he began, sitting down at a nearby picnic table and laying the newspaper out in front of him. He looked at Trixie. "You gonna sit down and help me find a job or what?"

"Psh. Depends who ya ask," Eli pointed out, reading the job listings. "I promised my sister I'd find a real job." He made a mockery of rolling his eyes. "Responsibility. It ain't great, but it looks damn good on me."

She giggled, patting his arm. "Of course it does, dear." She looked over the newspaper, then bit her lip, brow furrowing as she frowned.
