Adri smirked, trying to hold back her laughter. "You mean the one where he desperately tried to get Lizzie's attention but just ended up falling in the pool? Or when they had the cake eating contest and I beat you?" she recalled, quite glad that they're still best friends after all these years.

"You beat HIM?" Luke interjected from the back seat, laughing.
"To my defense," Eli began, "I had two cheeseburgers for lunch. I was pretty full already." Eli drove through Lizzie's neighborhood and parked his car near a bunch of others, figuring the house was nearby.

"Mmhmm, whatever," teased Adri, quickly spotting Lizzie's house not too far away. Once Eli parked his car, she jumped out of the car and led them towards the back, figuring that they were already in the backyard.
"Lizzie! We're here!" she shouted as they walked through the hallways, greeting her friends here and there.

Lizzie came out of hte kitchen, a beer in her hand. "Adri! And...Eli!" She beamed at him, and handed Eli a beer. "It's awesome that you were able to make it," she said to Eli.
Eli took the beer awkwardly, and shook his head. "No thanks." He instead offered it to Adri.

"Thanks, Lizzie, you're so thoughtful," muttered Adri sarcastically, taking the beer from Eli. She glanced behind them to see an uncomfortable looking Luke.
"Do you know Luke? Lizzie, this is Luke," she said, gently pushing him forward.

Luke gave her an awkward wave. "Hi."
Lizzie blinked at him. "Hello." She immediately turned back to Eli. "Wanna come outside? We're playing truth or dare."
Eli glanced at Luke and Adri. "nah. I'll think we'll just hang out. Unless...either of you wanna play.."

"C'mon," said Adri, linking arms with Eli and nudging Luke. "It'll be fun. Besides, we can all run away together if something happens."

Eli didn't like the sound of this, at all. He just wanted to get Adri alone, and finally kiss her romantically in front of some flames.
Luke, on the other hand, trailed along behind them, grabbing a beer on the way out.
Lizzie squeeled and fell into step next to Eli. "Did you play truth or dare a lot at your last school?"
Eli blinked at her, and chose to ignore that question.

"Everyone that's anyone," Lizzie replied as they stepped outside, revealing a large handful of other people sitting around the bonfire.
Lots of people. Way more than Eli expected.

"Geez, you weren't kidding," muttered Adri, spotting one of her close friends Kristina not so far away. After introducing her to the two boys, she persuaded (or more so forced) her friend to show Luke around.
"I think he likes her," smirked Adri, grabbing hold of Eli's hand for fear that he'd disappear. "C'mon, let's go around."

Eli didn't even have a chance to worry Kristina may be a bitch to Luke before Adri took his hand.
Then the whole world stopped, and nothing mattered.
"I dare you to shave your legs," Eli heard one girl say to a guy from the Truth or Dare game. Everyone laughed, and Lizzie offered to show him to her bathroom so he could do it.

"Did you even want to play?" asked Adri as they neared the group. It looked like most of them already had enough drinks to last the night. And she was sure she was too sober to play.

"Not really," Eli admitted, looking at her and taking her hand. "I just...wanna talk to you, actually....Adri, I-"
"ADRI. ITS YOUR TURN!" Lizzie yelled from the circle, stumbling over to him. "TRUTH OR DARE?"
Eli glared at her, but then everyone started yelling for him and Adri to join them. He sighed, giving in and taking a seat. He glanced around the circle, faces he was familiar with but rarely ever talked to. A lot were Adri's friends.

"How about truth?" she asked, sitting down and taking a sip of beer that Lizzie handed her earlier. She figured she'd play it safe for now. As the group decided, Adri began quietly introducing Eli to her friends.
