Adri frowned when Molly came rushing over to Eli's side. She almost forgot about her. Getting into the back seat, Adri couldn't help but glance over at Eli in worry. "Eli, you want me to drive?" she finally asked before he had a chance to drive.

"I'm okay." he repeated, beginning to drive to Molly's house. He was still shaken up, but he wanted Molly gone.
Especially when she started bitching about Matt. "I can't believe him! He's such a jerk! And to think there's even something going on between you two- completely moronic." Eli glanced at Adri through the rear view mirror.

Adri felt her cheeks flush once she caught Eli's eye through the mirror. "Yeah," muttered Adri quietly, only breathing a sigh of relief once they reached Molly's house.

Molly kissed Eli on the cheek. "I had fun! See you tomorrow Eli! Bye Adri!" She skipped off inside.
Eli cleared his throat. "You should move to the front seat," he suggested.

"Uh, yeah, hold on," nodded Adri as she unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the back seat. She gave Molly an awkward wave before she finally disappeared inside.
She sat in the front of seat, unsure of what to say. For once, she wished that Eli didn't know her well enough so he wouldn't know that her quietness meant that she felt uneasy.

eli didn't say anything either for a long time as he drove back. When he finally pulled into his driveway, he looked at her. "I'm sorry, Adri."

"I punched him! And..." Eli gulped, looking down at his lap. "He had been right. What he said. All of it." Eli felt like he was going to throw up. His knuckles were starting to bleed, and he knew he had to tell her.

"Really? Y-you feel that way?" she asked quietly before realizing that his hand was bleeding. She quickly reached for a napkin from her purse and gently pressed it over his hand, refusing to look directly at him.

"Thanks for doing that," she said, finally looking up at him. "You just gave me another reason not to date him. I didn't really like him, anyway." She continued to gently dab his hand with the napkin.
"So, uh, you said... it was true?"

"What was true?" Eli replied, playing dumb. But his hand that she was holding clasped over hers, squeezing it gently. He needed her to meet him in the middle. His whole body felt her presence- there were butterflies in his stomach, goosebumps on his legs.

She felt her heart skip a beat when Eli gently squeezed her hand. She looked at him, searching for an answer as she tried to calm her mind. "Do you, uh, like me?" she asked quietly. "More as a friend?"

Eli looked at her in the eyes. "Adri, I'm...I'm in love with you." he dropped her hand, panicking that he finally told her, said it outloud. Oh god. He rested his arm on the steering wheel, rubbing his forehead, trying to relax.
