Adri felt her heart drop. She was ecstatic yet scared at the same time. After his transformation this summer, she had never took a look at Eli in that way. But now, she didn't know what to do. They were best friends but...
"Eli, you okay? What's wrong?" said Adri, scooting closer as she noticed his reaction.

"I'm...I'm freaking out! I've been trying to tell you for weeks now. And it has to be after I punch some asshole? Who ruined everything?" he gripped the wheel, his knuckles beginning to bleed again. "I gotta go. I can't...I'm..." he shook his head, staggering out of the car to breathe fresh air.

"Eli, wait!" muttered Adri, jumping out of the car and running over to his side. She'd never seen him like this before and she was worried. Then again, he'd never told her he was in love with her until now.
"Hey, it's okay," she said, pulling him in for a hug and hoping to calm him down. "Me too."

"You too what?" Eli asked her, on the verge of a panic attack. he broke their embrace, it was only making it worse.

Eli blinked up at her, hardly believing it. "You're kidding." He bit his lip, standing up again to be eye-level with her.
"Really, Adri? Am I dreaming? You can hit me if you want."

Eli hesitated for a moment, then took her hand again, and brought it up to his mouth, kissing it. He felt ridiculous that he just nearly had a panic attack in front of her. "This can't be real."

"That's not the only... I mean, it's you, so..." stammered Adri, trying her best to string a sentence together but failing miserably. What he said was true but that wasn't the only reason she had feelings for him.

"you wanna?" he asked, feeling awkward again. Moving from friends to more was going to be....a challenge. Or he could just jump right into it. He took her face in his hands and kissed her softly, then move away quickly, dropping his arms at his side.

Adri froze as he kissed her, unable to react. Once he pulled away, she had to think for a couple seconds to catch her breath.
"U-uh, yeah, mmhmm, sure," she muttered.
