She brought her knees up to her chest, leaning her head against his shoulder. "Mm, somewhere warm. Never even been outta New York, ya know."

"Somewhere warm? Well gosh, my little duckling, that probably means we gotta go all the way South," Eli replied, frowning. He wasn't sure if he had enough time to go all the way down and back- he only had the weekend off from work, but the bosses loved him and Luke could cover for him- but he would be open to the idea. As long as they avoided Georgia.

She blinked, seeing the look on his face. "Are you--is that actually a real idea? We can't--I mean...can we?"

Eli shrugged. "Its....possible. And you know me, babe. Always up for an adventure. If you haven't even been out of New York...." He looked at her. "Unless you dont trust me. Blah blah I know we just met but I swear I'm a man of honor."

She laughed, turning her body towards him so she could loop her arms around his shoulders. "I trust ya, Eli."

Eli had the urge to kiss her, which surprised him. "Well...good." He cleared his throat, and handed her the flaming candle. "We'll see where this train goes. Maybe we can end up in DC and see the White House. Wouldn't that be something?" He smiled at her and then opened up a nearby box.
"Come on food...please please be food...." Eli looked at her. "You look inside, I can't do it, I'm too nervous!"

She rolled her eyes at his dramatics, but grinned and moved to peer inside. "Oo, tinned meat! Looks like...tuna and...beef. Good call, Eli. At least we won't starve."

"Holy shit!" He peered inside the box. "Told you I'm lucky!" the train was speeding up now, which made Eli itch to pull the doors open. "That is better than a blanket, which was what I was really hoping for."

She gave him a casual look as she moved to sit against the wall. "Guess we'll just have to keep each other warm, then."

"Guess so, Honeybun," Eli replied, smirking at her. He bit his lip, not being able to take it any longer. "Help me with this thing, but be careful I don't want ya flying out," Eli told her firmly, reaching for the door handle and pulling as hard as he could.

She scrambled up to help him, then fell back on her butt when the door flew open. "Oof!"

Eli laughed. "You okay, Sugar?" Deciding for himself that she was fine, he immediately peered outside, the wind hitting him hard but feeling fantastic. He saw trees and grass and everything fly next to them. It was like magic.

She moved to sit back against the wall, watching him, hugging her knees to her chest. He reminded her of some adventurer in a book one of the dancers used to read out loud to the rest of them every night. It intrigued her. And she wished he'd just get over wanting to be noble with her. "Come 'ere, Eli."

"No, you come here, Trixie. You've never seen out of New York? Well take a nice hard look." Eli stared out of the train, breathing in the air and his eyes filling with tears as the wind hit his eyeballs. He didn't care, he loved everything about this. The way the air felt, the speed of the train, the smell of the country air.

She got up, slowing walking towards him, a little nervous. She grabbed his arm, pressing close to his side as she looked out.
