((oooh, any of those could be fun! I'm totally down for this, lol. ))
"It is not easy," Pasha commented, lifting his head up to rub his temple. "Sometimes, you wonder if it is worth the trouble to be here."

"Well why did you leave in the first place?" Eli asked, almost certain it would be.

((I'll look at it in the morning. Yaay, I'm so excited for it! And sure, whatever you think might help with it. I don't know why it's so finnicky. :/ Sadly, I should probably get to sleep. 3 am comes WAY too quickly sometimes! lol))
"I did not have a choice," Pasha explained. "My father, he decided to come here. Sold all of our things for tickets on a ship. I did not want to come. The only reason I stay now is because of my sister."

"Well whats so great about Russia?" Eli asked him again, with a shrug. "It's just as cold here. Just as many people. Poverty's the same. Only more freedoms, right?"

"More freedoms, da," Pasha answered enthusiastically. He let out a chuckle, a grin coming over his face. "And women do not wear pants." Or leave the kitchen. Or demand silly things such as equal rights.

Pasha looked towards where Eli was pointing and shook his head slowly, his jaw practically hitting the floor. "Oh, noooo. Definitely not," he grinned. Okay, so maybe he could handle some girls in pants if he got to see more dresses like those!

((hey so do you have any specific idea how I should handle Annabelle's character? Make her now poor and struggling, or keep her a rich snob? Pasha could get a job in her father's toy factory, it's how she could meet him if we keep her rich))
Eli laughed. "and we have baseball here. One of the best sports"

((I think keeping her rich would work! Definitely even more of a culture clash for him, haha. Hell, maybe he'll even try to pull the "I am a Tsar in disguise" act on her.))
"Baseball?" Pasha asked. That word sounded weird to him when he said it. Base. Ball. "I do not know what that is."

((haha omg I love it. I'll start a thread then))
Eli's jaw dropped. "you don't know what baseball is?! Greatest American past time! It's too bad it's winter, otherwise I would have snuck us into a game."

"Well, as soon as we can go then, we will," Pasha decided with a nod. "I must see what this baseball is all about."

Eli attempted to explain it to him, but he even admitted you needed to see it to understand it. "anyway. You and your sister should visit the statue of liberty. Then you'll feel like true Americans!"

"I saw it when the ship docked," Pasha informed him with a nod. "She's quite big, isn't she?"

"oh yeah. Absolutely magnificent." Eli agreed, with a nod. "Anyway, you gotta watch out for your sister. She's probably gonna meet someone corrupt in that lodging house ."

"What do you mean?" Pasha asked, a deeply concerned look on his face. "She is safe in that house, yes? It is supposed to be safe there!" If she wasn't safe in the lodging house, there wasn't anywhere in the city she would be safe -- except the convent.
