Eli caught up to Luke and quickly filled him in on what happened. Luke rolled his eyes, shoving his friend in the shoulder.
"You are the luckiest bastard in the world, y'know that? You say it all the time but its goddamn true." Luke glared at his friend for being so stupid, happy to see him alive.
Eli chuckled. "You're right, this neighborhood is miserable. Let's find an apartment by David's building. Wouldn't you like that, Davey? We'd be neighbors." He wrapped an arm over his shoulder, laughing at him.

Luke glared at both of them. "I can't listen to this anymore. I'll see you at home." He shook his head, walking away.

"What, you aren't enjoying your time with me? Don't you wanna marry my sister or something?" Eli grinned at him, still pleased with the work they accomplished. "If we're gonna be family, you should be able to withstand me. I'm gonna be your kids' Uncle Eli."
