Eli stormed up the stairs to the Jacobs' apartment building and banged on their apartment door. He didn't care how loud he was, or how obnoxious he was being- and he was also way too angry to even care.
He couldnt even remember the last time he was this angry. He stood there at the door, breathing heavily and quickly, trying to compose his anger but having no luck with it. For a moment when no one answered, Eli realized it was the middle of the day and probably no one was even home.

David had ditched again, but had opted to stay home instead of bugging Zippy at work, though he was planning to pick her up and walk her home.
When there was banging on the door, he sat up from where he was laying on the couch and reading. "What the--" he went to the door and answered it. "Eli? What are you doing here?"

Eli stormed into the apartment, shoving David out of the way. It didn't look like anyone else was home, which was good because he was about to explode.
"DID YOU KNOW ABOUT IT?" He shouted at David, grabbing his shirt collar. "DID YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?"

David narrowed his eyes at him and pushed him off. "You mean did I know what happened to her 'cause you weren't there to protect her." He growled, straightening his shirt, thoroughly pissed off.

"I was dragged down south to a Georgia plantation to work in the fields when I was 12, you ass wipe. I was treated like a slave, what the fuck could I do from down there?" Eli spat at David, completely sick and tired of his attitude.

David froze, eyes widening a little, then he let out a breath pinching the bridge of his nose. "Jesus, Eli."

He looked back at him, frowning. "Which is exactly what worries me! How do I know you're not just gonna run off and leave her one day? Or worse -- hurt her? It's my job to look out for her!"

There weren't any right words to describe her, and Eli looked at David, thankful that he didn't need to explain. Because that was why he was here. Out of everyone, David knew exactly how he felt.
