"Newsies square?" Leo chuckled. "we'll go to central park this weekend. Do you work on weekends?"

"Not yet," she answered with a smile. "Medda said weekends are very busy. Very fast. She said I will not work weekends until I get used to the job." She paused, wondering if he really meant what he had said about taking her. Her brother had promised her many times before that they would go eventually, but it was something that he had yet to live up to. As a result, she never let herself get too excited about promises of future plans.
"We can go?" she asked, smiling "Really?"

"Yes of course. Star will have to stay here, though. Although wouldn't it be hilarious if we could walk her like a dog once her paw heals?" he chuckled at his own joke.

"With a leash?" Lana added with a laugh. "Oh, that would make me laugh! She will be fine here by herself while we go, right?"
((haha, leash cats are the best!))

Leo nodded. "of course. You can leave her with another newsie As well if you are worried. Maybe even your brother. Would he let you have a kitty?"

"I do not think he will mind it," Lana answered with a shrug. She let out a quick laugh. "Actually, he may like it because it is a reason to keep me at home!"

"Then there ya go. You can leave Star with him," Leo offered, with a smile. He finished up his sandwich.

"Then I will," she agreed. Not that she would've disagreed anyway. 'No' wasn't exactly a word that was big in her vocabulary. "Maybe a kitten is what he needs to melt his cold heart," she joked.

Leo frowned but shrugged. "If anyone could do it, I bet Star could." He took her hand. "Would you like to go watch the sunset on the roof?"

Lana nodded and carefully rose to her feet. She could feel her face grow hot as her hand slipped neatly into his. "I would. I have never seen the sunset with anybody else before." Especially not a boy, let alone one as sweet as Leo. "Should we leave Star here?"

Leo smiled at her. "Do whatever you want. It's your choice."

Her choice? Really? She looked at him with confusion. This was a joke, right? She bit down on her lip and looked back at the sleeping kitten. "She should stay here," she finally decided. "I do not want to wake her." After all, how long could watching the sunset really take, anyway?

Leo nodded, "I think that's a good idea." He took her hand, and led her up the stairs.

Lana gave his hand a small squeeze as she quietly followed him up the stairs. She bit down on her lower lip excitedly and, for a moment, she swore she could feel a strange fluttering sensation in the pit of her stomach. "Do you think anybody else will be up there?" she asked before giving his hand a light squeeze.

"Possibly," Leo admitted, liking the feel of her hand in his. Her hands were so smooth. "But it does not hurt to try, right?"
