She clenched her jaw, but remained calm, perching on the edge of his bed. "You wanna explain to me why it's such a big deal I danced with Luke?"

Her eyes widened a little at him. "I'm not fuckin' Luke, Eli! That's the first time we've even hung out together!" Her voice went soft, weak, "Is--is that really what you think a' me..?"

Trixie got off the bed, pushing hair out of her eyes, stalking his room, back and forth. "So what?! So what if you like me! That doesn't mean anything, Eli! You haven't asked me out, haven't told me you wanna be with me! So, what, you don't want me, but I can't be with anybody else either?!"

She winced again, at the look he gave her and his tone of voice. A tear fell down her cheek as she looked at him, and she swallowed roughly. "Then--then tell me what it is, Eli..."
