She winced again, her bottom lip trembling. She didn't say anything, just stared at a crack in the sidewalk, sniffling back tears, trying not to cry.

She lifted her head, glaring at him, her eyes shimmering with unshod tears. "No, you asshole! God, are you really that stupid! Don't you get it!" She was crying now, and wiped her eyes angrily. "Ugh, forget it!" She pushed past him, heading home, hugging her arms around her since she left her coat in the dressing room.

Eli ran to catch up with her. "No, Trixie. I don't get it. You are acting crazy." he said this to her calmly, not wanting to leave things this way. "Help me understand."

She turned on him, angry and hurt. "You freak out 'cause I'm dancin' with another guy, and I'm actin' crazy?! Eli! We're not even together!"

"So what?! Who cares who it was! Luke's a nice guy and I asked him to dance with me. That's all! And even if that wasn't all we did, what right do you have to get mad at me?!" She sighed heavily, wiping her eyes.

"You asked HIM to dance with YOU?" Eli glared at her. "You know how I feel about you! What are you trying to do, get me and Luke into some sort of fight over you?" He shook his head at her, beginning to walk away. "I don't want a girl like that."

Eli shook his head, heading back towards his apartment to make sure Luke got back alright. "Broads. I jut don't get 'em!"

She watched him leave, going back to Irving Hall to change out of her dress and grab her coat. She left without saying good-bye to anybody, and headed straight for Eli's apartment, knocking on the door.

Eli answered the door, surprised to see Trixie and stepped aside ot let her in. The apartment was a lot less bare now, and much more homey. Luke had bought their living room a nice carpet. "What are you doing here? You shouldn't be walking around alone this time of night."

"Yeah, well, somebody left me standing out in the middle of the street by myself." She gave him a pointed look, shrugging off her coat.

He put a finger to his mouth, gesturing for her to shush because Luke was passed out on the couch. "He didn't even make it to the bed." Eli responded, giving her a pointed look right back.
