Adri clutched her shopping bags as she walked throughout the mall. She tried to remember her Christmas shopping list -- Mom, Dad, Alec, Beth... who else was she missing?
She sighed, spotting an empty bench and taking a seat. She loved her job, she really did. But there were days when she wished she had more time to herself. Hence, the last minute shopping. She glanced at her watch and realized she only had a couple more hours to go. Who was it that she was forgetting?

Ben was doing his own last minute shopping when he saw Adri across the way. He'd known her a while now, from their school days, and he was friends with Alec. He made his way through the crowd to where she was sitting. "Hey, Adri!"

"Ben, Hi! Doing some shopping too?" she smiled, moving her shopping bags over so he could have a seat.

He flopped down beside her, nodding. "Yeah, still had a couple things to get. How ya been? Haven't seen you in a while."

"Good... well, busy... I'm just glad I get time off this week to relax," she answered, only now remembering that she still had to get a present for Ben. "I haven't slept in for weeks. I'm definitely looking forward to that. You doing alright? Hanging out with Alec?"

He nodded. "Alec and me went for drinks the other night." He smirked at her. "He's totally in love with Beth, ya know."

"Yeah, but they're both too scared to admit anything," she replied, chuckling softly. "They'll get together soon enough... they just like taking their time, that's all. How about you? Dating anyone?"

He shook his head. "Me? Nah. Dated a girl, Cecilia, for a while. Didn't work out. What about you?" He flashed her a smirk. "Leaving heartbroken beaus in your wake, I'm sure."

Adri rolled her eyes and shook her head. "No," she chuckled. "I haven't really dated in a while... work's been killing me and I hardly have any time to myself these days."

"Aw, well that's just a shame. You done with your shopping? Come on, I'll take you to lunch." He smiled at her, patting her knee affectionately.

Adri blinked, surprised at his sudden gesture. "Are you done with your shopping? I actually have one gift left to buy..."

He nodded. "I'm done, but I wanted to check out the music store. You wanna meet in a half hour or so?"

"Yeah, sure," she nodded, a plan already forming in her head. Once he was gone, Adri immediately made a beeline for the garage, dropping off her shopping bags and rushing over to the music store. Instead of going up to Ben, she snuck behind an aisle of DVDs, determined to figure out what he wanted to look at.

Ben was eyeing a vintage Les Paul guitar like it was a naked woman. He touched it lightly, then picked it up to get a closer look. It was on sale for the holidays, but still way out of Ben's price range. He put it back with a sigh, giving it one last, longing look before moving away and towards the bin of old vinyls.

Adri eyed the guitar that Ben was holding. Once he stepped away, she snuck up behind him to glance at the price. She had enough in her budget to actually buy it, considering she only stuck to four presents this year. She immediately snatched it up, hid between aisles as she ran towards the cash register and paid for it before finally depositing it in her car and walking back to the music store as if nothing happened.
"Find anything?" she smiled, gently poking his shoulder.
