As the show went on, she squeezed his hand at all the sad parts, sniffling into her handkerchief. She pressed herself against his side, wanting to be close to him.

Eli was fascinated how the show seemed to suck him in, making him forget who he was and where he was. If it wasn't for Trixie's sniffles, his mind would have been completely lost.

In the final climactic scene, the fiance shot Mary Lynn's lover, making Trixie burst into tears.

Eli nearly dropped a tear himself. Nearly. The finale began and the cast did their bows. Eli stood up and applauded.

Eli continued his rant as he led her down the stairs and out the door. "I never thought about writing. Novels are boring, I rather just run around and do stuff rather than read bout it...but a play! A play comes alive!"
