She stepped up behind him and asked for ten papers, furrowing her brow at the look the man gave her. He slid the papers in a bundle across the counter to her, and she struggled to put them under her other arm and walk away.
"I'm glad I didn't ask for more," she mumbled as she hefted the stack. "I don't think I could have carried them..."

Specs chuckled softly, amused. "Told ya to hide your violin somewhere," he smirked. "Now, make sure you find a spot that none of the other newsies are using... and just shout headlines as much as you can!"

((agh, i had a whole thing typed out, and the stupid computer broke connection! > )) Birdied nodded slowly, trying not to look overwhelmed as she looked around her for some idea of a spot to sell. "Okay. I can do this."
