She sighed, pressing the heel of her hand to her forehead. "So, have your space, Eli. If that's what ya want, have it." Her eyes welled up, though she tried hard not to cry.

Trixie couldn't help it, she started to cry, clutching his hands. "Don't you ever hurt me like that again, Eli. Not ever." She threw her arms around him, pressing her face into his neck.
