After school, Lori was waiting out front, a little nervous. She and Mel always walked home together, at least until they parted ways and went their separate directions. But this time Chris would be with them. The both of them. And then go home with her.
She was half-excited that she'd get to spend time with him, and half-nervous about what Mel would say.
