"Well, that's good." Nate slid down tothe base of the piling so he was sitting against it, his arm dangling over the water as he ashed his cigarette once more. "Nothin' worse than a girl who argues over every little thing, know what I mean?

"You're lucky then," Nate remarked softly. He finished off the last of his cigarette and threw the butt into the water to extinguish it. "Most of us can only ever seem to find the girls that make us crazy, and not the one that seems to fit."
He paused and leaned his head back against the piling, his hand running up into his hair as he tried not to let himself get too lost in thought. "How long have you been with her?" He realized that maybe he was being just a bit too intrusive, but talking about this girl seemed like a lot better of an idea than discussing the weather or something else that was equally boring.

"Two years?" Nate asked, his eyes wide. "Wow, that's pretty impressive, I've gotta say!"
His thoughts drifted off again for a second, but he quickly snapped himself back into reality. "Longest I was ever with a girl was a year and a half."

Nate wasn't sure why, but he found himself laughing at the other man's last comment. "Well, you haven't cheated on this one, so I guess that counts as something!" He quipped. "There's gotta be something special about her."

"Well she takes care of my kids so that's part of it, but I actually love her. Plus she's out of her damn mind...and horny as hell, all the time. I think that has a lot to do with it." Tristan said with a laugh, he smiled. "I love her though." he studied this guy for a second. "You know I know somebody who could use a nice guy."

Nate's laughter grew. He wasn't too sure what to make of this guy just yet but, whatever was going on, it hasn't minding it one bit! "Is that so?" he asked, his eyebrow arching inquisitively. "This girl doesn't happen to be completely out of her mind and live over on Duane Street, does she? Because I've met that girl, and I'm pretty sure she'd kill me."

"Dark hair, carrying around a baby, and has the mouth of a sailor. Pretty much hates my guts already," Nate answered with a laugh. "She's one of two girls that I met there. The other one's not so bad."
He paused, trying to think of who Tristan could be referring to. "Who's the one you've got in mind?"

"Asbolutely nothing!" Nate replied with a quick laugh. "I was talking to the other guy, Risk, and this girl came in all piss and vinegar yelling at me." He shrugged, his head shaking in some strange form of amusement. "I think he said her name was Macbeth or somethin' like that."

Tristan started to laugh even harder. "Macbeth hates everyone and I ain't talking about Macbeth." He kept laughing, "I'm talking about Rae. The other one. Olive skin, dark brown hair, really pretty. She's got a kid too."
