"We're just a very attractive couple," Sapphy concluded. She took his hand again and kept walking towards Coney Island.

"That we are," he agreed, though he really wasn't sure what she saw in him--he just had a firm notion that Italians exuded attractive vibes. "So have you been to Coney lately?"

"Not for months and months," Sapphy reflected thoughtfully. "You said years, though."

He nodded. "My parents took me and my brother, but those are really dim memories now. I know there was cotton candy involved. And Tino cried 'cause he was scared of the carousel horses." Actually, while the details were fuzzy, he had a strong memory for the feeling of the place and being there with his family, which was possibly why he'd subconsciously avoided it ever since.
Today, however, he was pretty sure not even long-ago tragedies could put a dent in his mood.

"Just to give you a head's up, I'm gonna ask about your family on a day that doesn't involve Sapphy and Racetrack Adventures -- these are happy days." She told him before walking in front of him, turning to walk backwards so they were looking eye-to-eye.
People had to avoid her on the sidewalk, because she wasn't taking care -- she was busy walking in front of Race, grinning like a fool.

Race snorted with laughter, ignoring the part about his family for now. "Careful, these sidewalks are treacherous!" He could attest to this with various mishaps, though he'd been drunk and blamed Raven for most of them.

Sapphy twirled around on one foot, grinning at Race over her shoulder.
"What's your second one gonna be? Coney Island is one, but it doesn't really count as something you've never done. Oh, yes, the roller coasters," she nodded, thinking out loud. "Related but... Not really. Kind of like me and the morning races. That kiss I so graciously bestowed upon you was new. So you have to think of something new-new and not... Secondhand-new."

Race did his best to follow her whole line of thought. "New-new, huh? I dunno, maybe the rollercoasters will inspire me. Day's still young, after all--we can enjoy Coney Island and then do something else tonight. I'd ask if you had anything in mind, but I guess that'd be cheating."

Sapphy stopped walking for a second. She lowered her chin and looked up at Race devilishly.
"......Have you never been on any roller coaster before?"

Race looked at her defensively. "I've done many daring and frightening things in my life! Just...not rollercoasters."

"Question One," Sapphy announced challengingly. "What daring and frightening things do you speak of?"

"Gambling in Five Points," he said with a smirk. "Gambling in Brooklyn. Gambling in the Bronx...you get the idea. Also countless fights in Brooklyn, which happened so often it actually got boring, even if you never started 'em. Facing scabs and thugs during the rally. Jumping on the backs of carriages while drunk."

Sapphy looked unamused.
"Sounds like you just have a low threshold of daring," she smirked.

"Oh yeah? What have you done, Sapphire Eyes?"

Sapphy paused, the smile slipping from her face. She didn't think that far ahead of this being a possible turn in the conversation.
She cast Race a glance that clearly said the discussion was closed -- because he wouldn't like any of her answers.
