Spot hovered in the back booth, sipping on a glass of scotch. His hair was a mess, his eyes were dreary and sleepless, his shirt was wrinkled and unbuttoned.
He had sent everyone away and when he wasn't selling or doing strictly Brooklyn business, he was in here, alone. Sure, he had looked for Raven when she had disappeared, worried that someone had taken her again. But when he found out she was simply living in Manhattan, he gave up, defeated. She had finally left him, and he was sick of begging her to take him back. He didn't even know what the fuck he did this time.

Race, who did not know that Spot knew where Raven was, came into the pub feeling incredibly nervous and trying not to show it. He was going to have a drink with his old friend and do his best to comfort him, all the while not mentioning that Spot's missing girlfriend was living right under his nose.

Spot didn't even look up. "What do you want, Race?"

He sat down across from him. "She's...probably fine, you know. Prob'ly just needed to take a break from Brooklyn for a while."

"Didn't you move back," Spot growled, taking a sip from his drink and staring at the candle that illuminated the table.

"Yeah, but I can actually travel back and forth. They have this bridge now," Race said, getting a bit snarky in spite of himself. It was instinct, with Spot.
He didn't really look like he could take snark right now, though. Race ordered a drink.

"You've been gone for years, but suddenly you decide to just come visit whenever you damn well want!" Spot glared at him. "Get the fuck outta my face."

Race was this close to pointing out that Spot hadn't exactly been Mr. Sociable either, and that he'd technically left in the first place because Spot shipped him off to Jack in much the same way Jack shipped Raven off to Spot, but something stopped him. Spot hadn't asked him if he knew anything about Raven. And according to Tristan, he'd been asking half the city.
"Spot, do you know where Rae is?"

Spot rubbed his eyes. "Of course I know where she is." He looked Race in the eyes then. "Will you give her a message for me? Tell her I'm sorry and goodbye. I'm skipping town."

"Oh." Race pondered that first sentence for a moment, wondering why he was still alive, then narrowed his eyes at the second. "Skipping town for where?" He had an uneasy feeling it might be a metaphor for jumping off the aforementioned bridge.

"Like I'd tell you anything." Spot saw no reason to stay in New York anymore. Brooklyn was his home, but now that Tristan had a family and Raven left him, it didn't feel like home anymore. He didn't trust anyone and the one person he really loved and trusted bailed.
What else was the point? He'd let Freddy take over Brooklyn. Even Sammy can damn well have it for all he cared.

"She'll be back, Spot. She needs time, all right? Being with you was too much too soon, and she couldn't handle it. Come see her if you want to. Come yell at her in the lobby. But don't go off and disappear, 'cause then she'll fall apart again. And not that you care, but I'll be stuck in Brooklyn trying to hold the whole damn place together. Again." ((Must...go to bed...but tomorrow I'm finding a way to snap Spot out of this if it means the two of them throwing down. ))

((Not to butt in, but is Freddy property of anyone, or is he free-range... Yes, like a chicken. I may need to play/borrow him later in this thread bwahaha))

((No, Freddy is just a random Brooklyn newsie I made up. I needed a Brooklyn newsie I could control in my posts haha. He's up for grabs if you want him I guess lol. He's right below Tristan in line. If you wanna bring him in, that would work. Freddy is very loyal to Spot and always has his back. He is always there when Spot needs him, naturally lol. BY THE WAY TRISTAN CAN JOIN THIS THREAD TOO IF HE WANTS))
"The fact that Rae couldn't tell me that and instead just bailed proves that she wouldn't give a fuck if I left either." Spot responded. He had never felt more alone in his life. He knew everyone expected him to flip out, but he just didn't have it in him this time. Sammy took it all out of him, and flipping out over Raven doing practically the same thing felt like the most horrible case of deja vu.
Spot finished off his drink and reached for his hat. "They finally broke me, Race. I'm not fighting anymore."

Tristan had been listening silently the entire time. He gripped Spot's shoulder and forced him down into his cheer. Three brand new shots of whiskey appeared in front of him and he put one in Spot's hand.
"She'll come back when she's ready, this had nothing to do with you."
((holy shit, he can't leave! Rae would have a heart attack...though it would make for goooood drama))
