Wraith knocked on Tristan's door for probably the hundredth time. For once, she wasn't too anxious about Nevada answering, which might have been a mark of how far they'd come, or it might have been because she was already way too anxious about the message she'd come to deliver. She didn't know how Tristan would react to this information--she wasn't even sure she was doing the right thing. But she owed him so much, and she couldn't conceal this from him. She took a deep breath and knocked again.

Tristan answered the door with a pouting Mikey pressed against his side. The toddler had his arms crossed and was glaring. Tristan didn't have a shirt on and he looked as pissed off as his son.
"Hi Wraith, it's bathtime." He said with a growl.
"NOOOOO!" Mikey shrieked and Tristan took a deep breath, closing his eyes.

Wraith had to bite her lip to keep from laughing. On the one hand, she would rather not have walked in at a stressful time; on the other hand, the expressions on both their faces were hilarious. "Aww, Mikey, what's all the fuss about? Baths are fun!" Especially when you share them with a beautiful girl, but you won't find that out for a good many years.

((Okay I love Wraith lol))
Mikey narrowed his eyes at her and looked exactly like his father, except a very small not nearly threatening form of his father.
"Enough of this shit, Mikey. You're getting a bath," Tristan finally said and started marching toward the bathroom.
"No," Mikey said, still pouting.
"Come on, Wraith. Whatever you want you're gonna have to tell me in the bathroom." Tristan called to her, already halfway down the hall.

((Haha, as do I))
"That's, uh...n-not really the best place..." Wraith stammered, trailing after him. There was no sign of anyone else in the apartment. Nevada must have taken Lucy out somewhere, and Kennedy...well, it had been a while since Wraith had found Kennedy at home or gotten a visit from her. Not only did she miss her, but she was starting to get downright worried.

The tub was ready for Mikey, waiting, steam rising from the water. Mikey shrieked with terror and clung to his father's bare skin. He immediately started crying.
"Jesus Christ Michael! It's just water!" Tristan was quickly losing his patience, they had been at this for long enough.
"Kennedy's not home, I haven't seen her in days." Tristan commented and pried his son from his body. He looked at his sobbing child and plopped him into the water, where he continued to wail.
"I'm sorry! It's just water," Tristan said with a sigh, holding him with one hand he reached for the soap.

"Me either," Wraith admitted, watching Tristan wrestle with his son and the soap. "Um...if this isn't a good time..."

"Nah it's fine," Tristan immediately started scrubbing Mikey's back. The toddler had finally resigned himself to the fate and contented himself with pouting.

"Well..." She did not want to make this announcement while he was bathing a sulky toddler. She tried to stall it. "I was following that kid Risk, the undercover cop. Because that's, uh...what I do with my spare time..." Somehow she didn't think Tristan would be surprised by that. "He got drunk with some friends and ended up out on the porch, talking to this girl named Macbeth." She took a deep breath. "So I hid under the porch and...and eavesdropped..."

"She's a real peach huh?" Tristan said, glaring as soon as he heard the name Macbeth. Mikey whimpered and wiped at his nose.
"Daaaa," he whined.

"I-I don't really know her..." She'd seemed like someone Wraith wouldn't care to tangle with. But she was indirectly tangling with her right now. "Uh...they, uh...your name came up." Her voice was getting squeaky, like it always did when she was nervous.

"My name?" He eyed Wraith warily. He finished up Mikey's bath and lifted him up out of the tub before immediately wrapping him up in a giant fluffy towel. Mikey grinned then and shoved his hand in Tristan's face.
"Oh, now you're all better huh?" Tristan gave his hand tiny kisses.

She nodded, glancing at the kid, even though he obviously had no idea what was going on. "It sounded like, um..." She swallowed. "Like you knew Macbeth's sister? A girl named Ada? And...and she had a baby..."

Tristan pulled Mikey's hand down from his face and turned to face Wraith immediately. He had a strange expression on his face, anger mixed with hurt.
"What of it?"

Thanks to that expression, Wraith was torn between wanting to run away and wanting to hug him, but she had a feeling neither one would go over well, so she just wrung her hands and looked at the floor. "Macbeth said she told you the baby's dead," she practically whispered. "But...she's not. She's alive. In an orphanage somewhere."
