((I love Sammie! And especially the fact that she knows nothing about amusement parks. ;D <3)
"And occasionally around in circles," Goblin said solemnly. "With sharp turns and sudden drops and everyone screaming the whole time..." He got a faraway look in his eyes. "I used to really like rollercoasters."

Sammie's eyes widened in astonishment. The thought of riding something that went in circles and drops suddenly made her incredibly excited.
"Used to?"

"It's been a while," he said with a shrug. Sammie knew enough of his story that she should really be able to see how the past four or five years had left little time for rollercoasters. "I hear they've gotten even more dangerous, though. Even the occasional death." He grinned at her. "I say we give it a try."

"I'm blaming you if I die," she smirked. "Actually, I'm haunting you if I die from riding a rollercoaster."

"Considering everything else we've collectively been through, I'm not sure if that would be a really sad way to go out or a really lucky way," he mused. After thinking about it for a good ten seconds, he added, "I guess it would depend on how we landed."

"Even though, that'd be a pretty fun death to brag about," she muttered, smirking. "So, what else do you know about Coney Island?"

He tried to conjure up dim memories that mostly involved his father yelling, his mother crying, and him and Clara running off and hiding somewhere, which actually summed up most of his early family memories. "They've got a carousel, of course...that giant Ferris wheel...ice cream, but maybe not in the winter..." He raised an eyebrow. "And did you know that the Coney Island Elephant is the first thing immigrants see when they come in at Ellis Island? Even before the Statue of Liberty?"
He looked out the window, trying to catch a glimpse of the giant elephant-shaped hotel. Which not-so-secretly doubled as a brothel. Absurd and seedy--the perfect first impression of America.

"You know a lot about Coney Island..." she muttered, quirking an eyebrow at him. She felt the train stop and her excitement begin to soar. She hadn't been this excited about anything for a while. She stood up from her seat, glad that they successfully made it without getting thrown out.
"You ready?"

"I know a lot about most things," he said with a smirk, getting up and hopping off the train in answer to her question. He waited for her on the platform, having a strange premonition that this would be an afternoon to remember.
((Have I mentioned that I've really missed Arrogant!Goblin? I'm so glad he's finally angst-free enough to be cocky again, haha.))

((I don't think I've ever encountered Arrogant!Goblin! ...Have I?))
"Showoff," muttered Sammie under her breath, shooting him a look as she stepped onto the platform and followed him towards Coney Island.

Sammie nodded knowingly, quite sure what he was up to already. She'd seen him watch people more so than actually sell his papers. "Deal," she smirked, turning her attention towards the amusement park.
"Wow, uh, where do we start?" she muttered, just as awe struck as Goblin as they stood in front of the park.

"I'd say start slow and work our way up," he suggested, his eyes moving over each of the rides, game booths, and concession stands...and the people in the crowd, too...as he formed his usual mental catalogues. "Ferris wheel, maybe?"

Sammie nodded excitedly, taking off towards the Ferris Wheel. At least she knew what this one was. She stood patiently in line as they slowly made their way towards the front. She hadn't been this giddy about anything in a while.

He stood next to her and attempted not to grin too much at her unusually...peppy mood. Knowing Sammie, that would just make her turn all sour again. He found himself randomly wondering exactly how old she was. And then they were at the head of the line, and he bought them two tickets without thinking, and then found himself wondering if he'd just turned this into a date, and felt slightly terrified.
Outwardly, of course, he remained perfectly calm as they climbed into one of the cars.
