Every time Tristan left that apartment he had a sour taste in his mouth. He felt like a prisoner up there, being stared at with accusing eyes, all of them saying, you didn't do the right thing. He did and he knew it. He was a miserable bastard now, imagine if he'd gotten married.
He walked down the front steps, lighting a cigarette as he did so. She was a bitch. She sat there the whole time, just watching him, staring, not saying nothing, just so she could ruin it. Tristan wouldn't even come if it wasn't for that feeling he got every few days, that feeling that he was missing something and it compelled him to go.
He took a long drag on his cigarette and sighed heavily, the smoke billowing from his lips. He looked up at the window and there she was staring, no, glaring at him.

Kennedy had been tailing Spot for the past few days now, but she still couldn't piece together what was happening. She always watched far away, out of earshot, so she wouldn't get caught. She'd never really talked to Spot before, and she knew it'd look suspicious for her to be hanging around him.
But Spot was beating her in the suspicious department. He was being so sketchy that it was day three of her recruitment being Raven's Spy and she still hadn't lost interest. A new record.
She decided to take another approach: Tristan. Whatever it was, she knew he was involved. She watched her target silently from a shadowed alley across the street.

He jogged down the last couple of steps and started walking, hands in his pockets, heading up the block. Maybe he would stop in and see Jack and the boys, or stay the night or he could go to Sharkey's. For now he was just gonna walk.

Kennedy climbed up the building's fire escape like a monkey. She followed him from three stories up.
The kid inside that apartment he visited was adorable!

Nancy picked up Mikey who was staring out the window. The little boy reached out his hand, opening and closing his fist, "da...da.."
"Ssh," Nancy said, "stop it Mikey," she sighed heavily.

Kennedy gave one last look at the child, smiled at him and the mother, before taking off over the rooftops. She jogged ahead of Tristan, breathing heavily so as not to slow down.
She raced down the stairs of the last fire escape of the block, two buildings ahead of Tristan. Have to make it look natural. She turned the corner and literally bumped into Tristan. Kennedy made an excellent spy. Raven would be so pleased with her!!

"Watch it kid!" Tristan snapped and then paused, "kennedy what're you doing here?" she was close a little too close for comfort.

"Looking for my buddy Coyote," she grinned up at Tristan. "What about you?"

"None of your business," Tristan snapped and started walking again, deciding to head in the direction of the Duane street lodging house.
"How long you been followin me?"

Kennedy blinked at him. It wasn't hard for her to look clueless.
"Eh?"

"Don't gimme that look," He mimicked her confounded clueless face. "I was a bird once ya know? Wandering around up there watching people, I know when someone's watching me."

"...Your son looks just like you," she commented in a rush. "Don't worry, I ain't tellin' nobody."

Tristan glared at her, "You better not," He pointed at her and stepped closer. "Nobody knows because if the wrong people find out he's in danger." He took another step closer to her, "If anything happens to my son and I find out it's because you squealed I will cut out your fucking tongue."
(so pleasant...)

Kennedy didn't look the least threatened, and she really wasn't scared of Tristan at all -- though she knew logic said she should...
"What would I get out of running my mouth and putting an innocent baby in danger?" she asked, just as blankly as before. "...Why danger, though?"

"Good." He started walking again, and knew that she was going to follow him. "Danger cause I'm the guy Spot uses for everything and almost everyone knows that." Tristan put his hands in his pockets and sighed.
"He's cute huh?" He finally said, he really didn't want to get into the politics of Brooklyn right now.
