"She's like the mother I never had," Kennedy said. It was common knowledge Kennedy was practically the only Brooklyn newsie who not only had parents still in the picture -- but she slept at their apartment half the time.

Kennedy was tiny, but she could put food away like a trash can.
"...Why're you being so nice to me?" Everyone in Brooklyn hated her or thought she was annoying as hell.
