Tag thought about all the ridiculous lessons she had taken: waltzing, table etiquette, proper dress, etc. Fat lot of good those were doing her now...

"Yes, of course. Especially if it gives you the power to help other people learn something. I'm currently teaching Tree how to read." Tag liked to think she was helping to make Tree's life better because of that, and that made her feel nice.

Sapphy shrugged, smiling through her awkwardness.
"I suppose I'm just selfish. I always thought about an education only helping me -- not others." Having Tag say that warmed Sapphy -- there was rarely anyone so kind like that anymore.
