"He called you crazy," Stagey pointed out irritably. "He wants crazy? We'll SHOW him crazy." All word and no action, it seemed, as she slumped a little against the wall. In the still-sober corner of her mind, Stagey understood that running away seemed like a darn good idea.

"I am kinda crazy," Sapphy said after a long, thoughtful moment. "I guess I don't blame him for thinking so." In Sapphy's mind, the joking moment wasn't joking at all. It was going to fester with her even though she found a more rationale approach to viewing it.
