"Pay well at all?"

Tag shrugged, biting her lip.
"Depends on... Well, all on you, really. If you can make the paper seem more appealing than it really is, you'll do all right. Almost everyone has another job or two on the side, though."

Copper curled his upper lip, it was an unsatisfactory answer.
"Eh. I'll look for something else, then."

"What are you good at, then?" She folded her napkin and set it on her empty plate, putting her elbows on the table.

Copper thought for only a few seconds before answering honestly.
"Nothin'."

"Oh." Tag frowned. "Well, then I have no suggestions."
After a few seconds, Tag sighed. "You have to be good at something, yeah?"

"I'm really, really not," Copper said. "I can speak an okay amount of French. J'ai pris des classes à l'école tandis que ma soeur prenait des Espagnols. Elle toujours a aimé les hommes plus foncés cependant." He shrugged, showing off a bit.
"And I can draw a little. Nothing really good. No one's gonna pay me to do those things."

"I think there's a French restaurant somewhere on Broadway. You could try to get a job there..." She offered. She didn't want to think about anyone, especially someone she's talked to, out in the world with no money, no job, no prospects...

"Maybe," Copper grinned. "I have always been good with people... Am I good with you?" he asked for confirmation. "I've been outta practice in Missouri. It's why I sat down in the first place."

Tag blushed a bit but grinned all the while.
"Well, I rarely ever talk to strangers this much."

"Sounds like I'm on the right track, then," he smiled, pleased with himself.

"Sounds like it." Tag smiled and thanked the waitress as she took their empty plates and set down the bill. Tag took it stealthily and dug in her pockets for the change she needed.

Copper slid her a nickel out of his own pocket.

Tag didn't even blink an eye. She left the nickel where it was and paid for both of their meals with her profit from today.
She waved to the waitress and handed her the money when she came over.

Copper looked at her wide-eyed.
"Why'd you do that?" he asked, looking at her a little suspiciously.
