Tag suddenly felt panicked as she heard the offended tone in his voice. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt anyone's feelings.
"I simply wanted to treat my new friend as a way of saying 'Welcome to New York.' Is that so bad of me?" She asked, holding her breath.

Copper dug around in his pockets and gave her enough to cover his half of the bill.
"I'm sorry," he smiled widely, trying to shift the mood. "But I can't allow you to. Besides, I've been here all my life save for the last few months. No welcome needed. More like, ugh, him again."

"Yes, well... You're welcome." Tag was actually quite shocked that she was comfortable enough to be sarcastic to him. It usually took days or even weeks for that to happen.
