Better Options (Open-ish!)

[Kathryn]

"I've got a headache," she said simply, her voice emotionless.

[Script]

Script smiled up at him, more entranced by him than she ought to be. "I'm in, if you are." She grinned. "Lead the way, O Earless Leader." This would either be amazing, or end terribly. Either way, it was the most fun she'd had in months.

[Moonshine]

"Ah, a headache, 'course." He rocked back on his heels a bit, silent for several moments before speaking again, his voice smooth. "He's an idiot, Kathryn."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn had been thinking that, in fact, she was the idiot in this situation.

"Why would you say that? I barely know him."

[Tara]

Tara patted Jack's shoulder. "You'll find someone like that! I'm sure you will. You're obviously a great guy."

[Moonshine]

Moonshine shrugged, giving her a sidelong glance. "Any man who don't just fall at yer feet can't be too bright." He flashed . "Now, that ain't ta say you ought be playin games with people. But even so."

[Goblin]

"First I need something..." He spotted a large rag used for polishing trumpets and the like. "This'll do." He threw it over the lamp, muffling the light. They were less likely to get caught that way, and they couldn't go without the lamp. The lamp was essential.

"All right...as my sister would say, we've gotta stick to the shadows, try and watch every direction at once, and be really, really quiet." He slipped out the door and down the hall with Script right behind him, mentally reviewing the route--left turn, right turn, through a door, and up three flights of stairs to the tower.

[Kathryn]

"I'm not playing games. Like I said, I barely know him. Why would I want to make him jealous?"

[Script]

Script followed him as noiselessly as she could manage, keeping a lookout. She followed close behind him, trying not to keep her nervous jitters in check. She whispered, close to his ear, where she stood behind him. "Now what?"

[Moonshine]

Moonshine smirked, arching a brow at her, saying pointedly, "Who said anything 'bout makin' him jealous?" He lifted his shoulder again. "Guess I oughta feel honored ya picked me ta do the job."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn's mouth was set in a grim line as she looked down at her feet.

"Well, didn't work, did it?"

[Moonshine]

Moonshine watched her a minute, considering. "Sugar, if ya want my advice, I think ya oughta just talk to 'im. If ya want him that bad, tell 'im. Typically, guys don't like feelin' toyed with. For all you know, he wants ya, too. And if not, well," he shrugged, "At least then you'll know for sure." He lifted a hand up to tug on a piece of her hair lightly, playfully, flashing her another grin. "Though it'll bum me out not ta make out with ya anymore."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at his words.

"Sorry... I shouldn't have used you like that. But you've still been very helpful," she said, smiling up at him.

[Moonshine]

Moonshine flashed her a charming grin. "Well, now, Sugar, that's what I'm here for. And if ya ever wanna second go at me, well..." He leaned in conspiratorially, waggling his brows a bit, voice low, teasing. "I ain't gonna say no."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn's smile turned into a smirk as she replied, in the same tone, "I'll remember that."
