Better Options (Open-ish!)

[Moonshine]

Oh, this one's a pit viper in hidden form. Moonshine flashed her another grin and even allowed himself a wink. "What brings you pretty ladies all the way out here?" He nudged Jack, waggling his eyebrows at him. "We oughta feel real honored to have 'em here, right Jack."

[Tara]

"And it's nice to see you again!" Tara assured him. Then, seeing that Kathryn and Moonshine were getting along quite nicely, she sat down beside Jack and beamed at him. "Would you like to buy me a drink?"

[Goblin]

"I try to keep up with everyone," Goblin said with perfect innocence, smiling at Script and then glancing around for any interesting person he might have missed. At which point he noticed that Jack and Moonshine had been joined by two girls. One of whom had flaming red hair...Oh. Great.

He couldn't conceal a quick look of dismay before turning back to Script. "So how are you liking Irving Hall?"

[Script]

Script caught the look right away and quirked a brow. "It's...fine." She studied him a minute, darting her eyes over at the girls, then back at him. "Friends of yours?"

[Kathryn]

"Oh, just looking for some fun." Kathryn replied, acting as nonchalant and aloof as possible. She scanned the room quickly. Still no sign of Blink.

She turned to the good-looking boy with the southern accent, batting her eyelashes. "What did you say your name was again?"

[Moonshine]

Moonshine grinned at her, deciding to allow himself to have a bit of fun. "Tyler McGowan, ma'am. Folks call me Moonshine. You can call me whatever ya want." He leaned back against the bar, casual-like. "Can I buy ya a drink?"

[Kathryn]

"I would love one." Kathryn tilted her head coyly. One corner of her lips rose up into a half-smile as she laid a gentle hand on his arm.

[jackkelly]

"Sure," Jack said with a smile, "What's your poison?" He asked her as he waved the bartender over and turned to face her. "So how did it go then? with your friend?"

[Goblin]

Goblin gave the girls one more furtive look and leaned closer to Script. "See the redhead? Tara Fields. She's a childhood friend of my sister's. Hadn't seen her for years, but I guess she just decided to start hunting for us, because she showed up out of nowhere yesterday. And Tara and I just...don't get along. Because...we just...don't." There really wasn't any specific reason he could name. They'd been at each other's throats as long as he could remember.

[Moonshine]

Moonshine flashed her another charming smile, dimples showing. He didn't bother asking her what she wanted, just ordered something girly involving fruit juice for her, and another beer for himself. "Here ya go, Sugar." He clinked his bottle lightly to her glass. "Cheers."

[Tara]

"Oh...anything!" said Tara, who had no idea what they served in places like this. "Whatever you're having."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn smiled before taking a sip of her drink. It wasn't the best she'd ever had, but it wasn't awful.

Again, almost instinctively, her eyes scanned the room. Was it possible that Blink wasn't even going to show up tonight? Didn't newsies come here together and, like, every night? But why was she worrying anyway? She didn't want to see him! She was more than happy to keep Tyler McGowan company for the evening.

[Script]

Script nodded, keeping close to him, in the name of remaining conspirators of course. "Oh..well...do you want to avoid her? We can get out of here if you want to..."

She was doubly curious about his back-story now, desperately wanting to know more about all this. At this point, though, she was sure she'd just have to play her cards right and wait for him to share with her. All she could do was be there for him when he was ready to spill his guts out.

[Moonshine]

Moonshine watched her scan the room, smirking, amused. He leaned in close to her ear while she was distracted. "Lookin' for somebody, Sugar?"

[Kathryn]

Kathryn jumped a bit, startled by his sudden close presence. She recovered quickly and shot him a flirty smile.

"No, nobody." Good thing Kathryn was a good liar.
