Catching Lillian's signal, Ryan cleared his throat and smiled. "Er, sorry. Well, it's nice to meet you!" And with a wave, he whisked Lillian away to leave Adri and Teddy together.
"Er, what was that about?" chuckled Adri, turning to look at Teddy.

"Nothing, nothing," Teddy assured her, swinging back around to face the bar. "Like I was saying earlier, Ryan isn't blessed with a lot of social tact. If it weren't for Lillian... Well, never mind. Another drink?"

Adri shot him a look. She knew him well enough to figure out when he was trying to distract her. "Sure," she chuckled, actually quite amused.

Teddy laughed, shaking his head, before ordering two more drinks for them.
"You still a lightweight?" he teased as the bartender gave them their drinks.

"Hey!" laughed Adri, gently poking him on the shoulder. "That was in high school! Things are different now!"

"Yeah? And so what if I do?" she teased, taking her drink. "I bet you haven't had this much fun in a while! I mean, if that does happen."

"You haven't changed, y'know that?" smirked Adri, taking a sip of her drink. He'd always been the straight edge and Adri was always out looking for fun. She was still amazed at how they complemented each other.

Teddy smirked right back. "And is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
If she hadn't changed and he hadn't changed, would it even be possible for them to be together again? He wanted to - he knew that much - but if nothing had changed, they would end the same way they did four years ago.

Adri shrugged, smiling. "It's good to finally see you again, though... I'm sure of that," she said, this time more sincerely. She meant it and she always wondered how he was. She missed him greatly but she wasn't about to admit it anytime soon.

He reached over, laying a hand on her shoulder and squeezing it gently. "Me too."

Adri smiled, moving closer so that she could wrap her arms around him for a hug. She loved his hugs and the way he made her feel safe. It was something she hadn't experienced in a while.

Teddy wrapped his arms around her tightly, rubbing her back as they embraced. This just felt right, he couldn't deny it.
He waited another half-hour, until it was publicly acceptable to leave his friends at the bar. "Hey, let's go somewhere more private," he murmured into Adri's ear. He wanted to talk.

Although it was fun meeting Teddy's friends, Adri couldn't help but feel excited once he hinted at leaving. She nodded and set her drink down on the table, following Teddy's lead as they said their goodbyes and left the bar.
"So where now?" asked Adri curiously once they were outside.
