Graduation was so close, Teddy could feel it. He'd spent four grueling years at NYU earning his bachelor's degree in business, and now he was almost done.
He walked along the busy sidewalk as he headed back to his tiny, one-room apartment - it wasn't much, but it was his. He kicked a stray pebble on the ground, smiling to himself as he focused on his feet.

Adri felt lucky. Most of her friends were still slaving away and studying for their final exams yet, here she was, in New York and already graduated. Thanks to summer school, she graduated a quarter early and decided to travel. Settling on living in New York, she packed her bags and made the move. She was glad to be in the city and excited for new adventures.
Her eyes on her phone, Adri used her peripheral vision as she walked on the sidewalk, not paying too much attention before she suddenly collided into someone. "Oops, sorry!" she muttered, looking up to see who it was.

Teddy immediately looked up, holding his hands out as if ready to catch someone if they fell.
He saw a head of shiny, black hair... A head that looked awfully familiar...
"...Adrianne?" He asked suspiciously.

Adrianne narrowed her eyes, trying to remember if she'd met him before.
"Do I know..." she started before letting out a loud gasp. "Teddy?"

A huge smile replaced Teddy's grim line of a mouth.
"Yeah! It's me!" He cried, tempted to hug her. Though they hadn't parted on good terms...

"What're you doing here?" laughed Adrianne. It'd been forever since she heard from Teddy. Then again, losing touch came hand in hand with ending a previous relationship.

"I'm going to school here! NYU. 'Bout to graduate, though," he said proudly, puffing out his chest a little. "What about you? You don't go to school here, too, do you?"
If Adrianne had been here for the last four years, Teddy would feel like an ass.

"No," chuckled Adrianne, tempted to reach out and give him a tight hug. "I went to school in California, remember? I graduated a quarter early and I just moved here..."
She looked at him in amazement. It's funny how things turn out. Despite how things ended last time, she truly cared for him and still did. "How you been?"

"Oh, that's right." Teddy nodded, relieved that he'd forgotten.
"I'm great, but I just realized we're standing on a crowded sidewalk. Come on." He took her elbow and started walking to his apartment, only a few blocks away.
((Off to school! Bye!))

Ershey nodded and followed his lead. She almost forgot how much of a gentleman Teddy was. What happened to them before?
"Where are we going?" she asked curiously.

"My place. I just need to drop off my school stuff," he replied, gesturing to his backpack. "It's not far, though. Oh, sorry, are you supposed to be somewhere right now?"

"I was actually on my way back home, so no worries," replied Adri, following Teddy close behind. She was actually quite curious to see how he'd been doing these past four years.

Teddy nodded, fishing his key out of his pocket as they approached his building.
"So, what are you doing here in New York?" He asked as he unlocked the door.

Adri shrugged. Other than looking for a job, Adri hadn't really planned too far.
"Traveling, sightseeing, relaxing... job hunting," she answered casually. "You know that I don't really look too far ahead."

Teddy's lips formed a small smile; yes, indeed, he did know that. He had accredited that exact aspect of her personality as being one of the reasons why they broke up... He had been sure they would be together forever, but she was more concerned with the here and now.
He led her down the small hallway and up a flight of creaky stairs to his apartment.
"Er... Don't judge. I don't really know if it's clean or not," he chuckled softly, glancing at her.
