Adri caught his smile and couldn't help but blush. She knew that he knew her too well, enough for her to guess what he was thinking.
"It's ok," she chuckled. "I've probably seen worse, trust me."

He opened the door, and his heart sank when he saw all the dirty dishes in the sink and dirty clothes strewn all over the place.
"Ah, shit," he mumbled, grimacing and throwing his back pack onto the couch. "Uh... We don't have to stay here. Do you wanna have coffee or something?"

Adri couldn't help but laugh. "Teddy, after all these years, you're still embarrassed by me?" she smirked as she leaned on the doorframe. "But yeah, coffee sounds great."

Teddy just blushed, smiling bashfully as he closed the door and locked it.
"There's a great place just a couple blocks over, does that all right?"

"Works for me!" shrugged Adri, linking her arms with his. She had done it instinctively and without thought, failing to realize that they weren't together anymore. Still, she was comfortable with him and it was Teddy.
"How have you been?"

Teddy stuffed his hands in his pockets, his heart jumping at her touch. It was crazy she could still do that to him.
"Busy, mainly. But well. What about you? Breakin' hearts all over, I bet," he said with a chuckle.

"No one that's worth crying over, though," she smirked, glancing up at him. "I bet you are, for sure. Girls are always fawning over you."

"Didn't I just say I've been busy!" Teddy replied. Then his face fell. "I mean... Not busy like that! Busy with school and work!"
((gotta head off to school! Bye!!!!!))

"Mmhmm," she teased, not thinking too much about it. She loved how they were complete opposites. Adri wasn't one to plan towards the future and yet here was Teddy working hard to secure his. She wished they could somehow meet in the middle.
"Where do you work?"
((Have fun!! <3))

"I'm interning for Apple," he announced proudly, a huge smile on his face. Ever since he'd gotten his first iPod while they were dating, Teddy had made his mind up that he was going to work for Steve Jobs. He wasn't a technologically minded person, but he had a real knack for business.

Adri stopped in her tracks, stared at Teddy in amazement in a few seconds before jumping up to hug him.
"You are?" she squealed excitedly. "I'm so proud of you!"

Teddy hugged her back and, for a split second, remembered what it was like to be with her, to be in love with her.
"Yeah..." he replied quietly. "It was a tough process, but I got it eventually. I really think I might get a real job there, too."

"I'm sure you will," beamed Adri, pulling away and taking a step back. She forgot that they weren't supposed to be that close anymore. She hoped that he didn't think she was pushing her limits. "You always pull through."

Teddy resumed walking, his hands shoved back into his pockets.
"How's the family?" Teddy had always adored Adri's family, and they had adored him.

"The usual," she answered, shrugging. "Alec got a job as a detective over at California... y'know how he always asks questions but he likes it, I guess. He sorta gives Mom a heart attack almost everyday. They all miss you though... always ask me about you."
And it was true. They were pretty serious about their past relationship for two highschool kids.
