Now was the first time Teddy felt a bit of awkwardness... But before he could say anything about it, he saw the coffee shop just up ahead.
He opened the door for her, the strong smell of coffee filling the air around him.

Adri smiled as she walked in the coffee shop, loving the smell of fresh ground coffee. Heading towards the line, she turned and looked at him. "So, what do you suggest, hm?"

"I always just get the regular coffee, but I think you'd like the pumpkin latte," he said as he perused the menu. Not that he needed to; he came here so often he'd memorized the whole menu by now.

"Pumpkin latte it is, then," she smiled, trusting Teddy's judgment. He always had a knack of knowing about the best food. "So, anything interesting going on with you? Any fun stories? Girlfriends?"

Teddy approached the cashier and ordered for them, taking the money out of his pocket and sliding it across to him.
As they waited for their coffee, he plagued her with hilarious nerdy stories from work - he worked with a lot of nerds, the nerdiest being this guy named Ryan Lane. He was always saying the funniest things, even though he sometimes didn't know they were funny. What was really funny was that this guy had a fox for a girlfriend.
"Life is just weird like that, y'know?"

"As long as you can make a girl laugh, show that you listen and trust each other, there's nothing wrong about a nerd and a hot girl being together," said Adri simply. She was so lost in his conversation that she didn't even notice that their drinks were suddenly in front of them.
"Hey, wait, did you just pay for mine? Teddy, I have money!" she frowned, wishing he hadn't done that.

"Yeah, I guess that's true," Teddy replied thoughtfully, sipping at his coffee. He completely ignored her whining.

"Here," said Adri, fishing out four dollars out of her pocket and sliding it across the table.

"What is this?" He pushed it back to her, refusing to take her money.

"For the drink!"

"What drink?" He shrugged, then let out a sigh when he saw her annoyed face. "Oh, come on! You just got to the city, let me treat you!"

Adri bit her lip, knowing that she was fighting a losing battle. "Alright, fine, but next time it's on me."

"You haven't changed, have you?" he teased, nudging her foot under the table.

"What do you mean?" chuckled Adri, taking a sip of her drink. As usual, Teddy had great taste. She loved it.

"Hmm, let's see, does this sound familiar?" He cleared his throat and did his best impression of her. "Teddy, you pay for everything, it's not fair! Just because you're the boy doesn't mean you have to pay!"
