"My place or yours?" He hoped she didn't think he meant it that way; his intentions tonight were completely honorable. He just wanted to talk.

"Mine's pretty close," shrugged Adri, glad that she somewhat cleaned up earlier. She was curios to find out what he wanted to talk about. Although she had a feeling what it might be...

Teddy nodded, following her down the sidewalk. He shoved his hands in his pockets, not saying a word as he was too busy thinking of just how to start this conversation.

Once they reached her place, Adri opened the door and headed for the kitchen. "Want anything? Coffee? Tea? Water?" she asked as she opened her cupboard to see what she had available. She cleaned up just enough to show that she was already living in the city. Her place was small yet cozy, something that definitely fit Adri.

"Water, thanks," he replied, leaning against the kitchen counter. He gazed around, thinking to himself that the place had Adri written all over it.

"Here you go," she smiled, handing him a glass of water. She leaned on the counter, curious to know what he wanted to talk about.

Teddy gulped down half his glass, something he did when he was nervous and he had a drink of some sort in front of him. He set it down gently, letting out a small sigh.
"Do you think we can be friends again? Be honest," he began, not looking at her.

Adri was surprised at his bluntness. It was something she hadn't experienced in a while. "I thought we already are...? Er, I mean... I'd want to be," she answered hesitantly. "We've both grown a little bit, uh, I hope... so, yes?"

Teddy nodded, his heart beating faster as he prepared to say his next words.
"Yeah, 'cause... I mean, obviously I still really care about you. I know we didn't, uh, part on great terms. But... I've never really stopped, uhm, thinking. About you. I don't know," he shrugged, feeling like a bit of a tongue-tied fool.

Adri looked down at her hands. It was her turn to be shy. "I do too," she said quietly. "I, uh, I'm sorry about what happened before... I wasn't exactly mature, then. I didn't know what I was doing and... I just feel horrible about it all."

"No, it's not entirely your fault," he began, stepping closer to her. "I was maybe a bit...too concerned about the future. I needed to learn how to live in the moment as well as plan for later."
They were both so young at the time, neither of them probably knew what they really wanted. But now, at 22 years old, he was pretty confident of who he was and how he wanted to live his life. And to be quiet honest, he couldn't really imagine his life at any time without Adri.

"And I needed to learn how to plan a bit better," chuckled Adri, wondering how they worked so well in the past. "We just need to learn a little bit more from each other, that's all."

"Yeah," Teddy replied with a soft laugh. He took a deep breath and another step closer to her.
"Would you...maybe...consider going on a date with me?"

"Of course," smiled Adri as she looked up at him, itching to pull him in for a hug.

"Really?" he asked, unable to hide his relief.
